Never made it, all excess cucumbers get eaten by our hens, there's better stuff to make wine from, we expect our Blackberry picking up to 18 lbs by Tuesday (6lbs today, it's picking up), enough for 6 galls of wine, but if you're determined to make a gall just to try it, find a recipe, post link and I'll tell you what I think of it.

Argh. I thought I'd posted the recipe for this here! Anyway, bottled it up today and it has quite a kick. Will need a year or two to mellow but has definite cucumber taste with a touch of zest from some lemons I added . quite looking forward to it

Gopping. Much better use for cucumbers would be pickle / relish!

That's how I feel about Ginger wine. I've tried twice now, total waste of time! And I've discovered a yummy ginger-flavoured vodka that makes a good substitute for Stone's.

Not surprised, the internet's full of people posting recipes before they've even tasted them, then never subsequently reporting how awful they are, but leaving their dodgy recipes online to catch out novice winemakers.

Take this one for example, not only using cucumbers complete with bitter peel and seeds, but using whole lemons and oranges so that their pith will also impart a dreadful bitter taste to their 'wine'.
