I will listen to Piers an sometime I think he is a self opinionated person trying to impress like tv 'personality's have to) but sometimes he hits me with yeah..that is just what I am thinking..at that moment in time....the clock ticks past that quiet soon though..journalism they just do journalism not really true of everyday peoples lives.....

Yeah, can’t beat a bit of anarchy and the breakdown of society with all that entails. I tried to organise a peace riot in the early 70’s. “Yeah, smash violence” said I. Didn’t get any takers though, strangely. For someone so keen on sovereignty, one would imagine that a certain amount of pride/flag waving in one’s own country would be more to the fore. I don’t think I’ve ever seen/heard such a display of constant moaning, it’s almost incessant. I don’t think you’d be happy in Utopia. Meanwhile, we have a virus that’s the biggest threat to the global population, probably since WW2, and you’re moaning about institutions/politicians/conspiracies. I’ve had enough of it, so I’m sticking you on ignore.

 

There can be no doubt about it. This tragic viral pandemic has provided everyone with a talking point. Yes! even little ol'e me. Well I did tell you about 'me jab'.

So much has been written in the press and on here in GC. So BoJo. For starters. I remember when the nation had respect for it's political leaders. Sadly it seems, such respect died along with Winston Churchill.

Like it or lump it, BoJo or Mr Johnson is the country's elected prime minister. OK, he really comes across a babbling, bundling idiot. He's so untidy in his personal dress and appearance. Is it a spech impediment that every utterance is punctuated with many ums and r's and his continual repertitision of the last few words. At the end of the day. He and his government are the results of democratic voting by the people of Britain.

Yes many mistakes have been made. That matter of waste of money on PPE. Lets be honest. The human race tend to operate in circles, each to their own. The politcal ones have contacts way outside and above you and me. Oh yes. I buy from B&Q, I find them good. You try them out and find they are crap. Sadly this is what happened with the PPE dud contracts. It's happened, and the clock can't be turned back. Forgive and please, try and foget. Scenario. I have a gathering of some 400 friends. It's our intention to do a bit of grand tour of the british isles by coach or bus. Now then. I know just the guy to consult. So I get in touch with our very own FC. Yes Mike, he says. I can arrange that all for you. No probs. Comes the day. All 400 of us are stood, standing waiting for Transport for London or whoever to arrive. ZILCH. Technical hitch sorry. Am I and all my friends going to blame and forever blacklist FC. NO. So why continue to go on and on about the past.

This virus and the resulting worldwide pandemic could be part of a Biblical prophesy. 'In the last days, there will be pestilences etc etc' Who knows. What we do know is. Thousands are dying as a result of it. Those in power are doing their best. Scientist and medics are busting their guts to overpower it. Come on. Yes a debate can be good and beneficial at times, but quite honestly. Lets all try and be respectful and thankful that so many are risking their lives on our behalf and pause for thought.

something I not know of... this...digs and lizards..we have plenty of little lizards in the good weather days..Our Cats will try to catch them though.....

Most of what I have learnt has been from a book...lizards**...Except we use to sort of friendly with an older couple and we soon found them to be real downers about life...chinese whispers... they moved away north and we heard a few weeks ago that they hate where they moved to... only their 5 in 10 years but we are hoping it's just Chinese whispers again....

of course it would be quite normal for me to get the wrong end on the stick here...lizards**

I think it’s a sci-fi reference, @DianneW , rather than anything else.

Over a number of years there has been a Dr Who thread with the Silurians. The most recently where the British government had been taken over by the giant lizard-like aliens.

There was also another sci-fi drama in the 1980s called “V”.
