We have our online shop placed into plastic trugs and then we put them in the garage. Mrs H then wipes down certain items with disinfectant if they need bringing into the house.Parcels and letters are put into the garage to be opened, then we wash our hands. One thing about these 10 months of lockdown, don't you generate a huge amount of cardboard! Our little blue bin can hardly cope.

Had my second jab yesterday. Time had been reset to 1645. Allowing plenty of time to drive into London, it was a shock to find the roads almost empty. On arrival, the usual dtiving atound in circles for a vacan parking bay. Eventually we got one and sat for an hour prior to booking in. We'd wondered why so many ambulances, so late in the day. In the treatment area, we discovered lots of patirnts had come by ambulance. The place was packed. Despite being told that I would be seen to in about tweny minutes, it was over an hour later I got the jab. You would never suspect that the medics had been on the go for so long, no course words, always a smile and a kind word.

Somehow I sensed that this time the jab would hurt. Whereas the previous jab was over and done with, with no sensation. This nurse was a bit heavy handed, ouch!. I now have my card back as evidence of the vacination and a small stick has been added to it. My arm is a bit more painful this time, but not too bad. At least it is over and done with. Seeing how this virus is increasing. Don't take chances. Have the jab. You will then have some protection.

They have set up test sites for people who are showing no signs of covid, apparently to catch the so called asymptomatic ones amongst us.
The suggestion is you have a test every two weeks.

Not sure if this is a good use of resources, bearing in mind you can test negative today and catch it tomorrow and then spend ten days or so spreading it before you have another test.

I'm just wondering if its more to do with just creating statistics.

And really, bearing in mind none of these places are just a 5 min walk away, where does it fit in with the stay at home theme.

I do understand testing people with symptoms but this just looks like throwing money at something in the hope it might look like we are getting everyone involved.

Good afternoon @pete 2 of my sons have had the test at Rochester Cathedral as they are London bus drivers I'm not sure if it is for everyone with out symptoms but as far as I am aware its for the following people,I could be wrong:dunno:

This includes those who work in supermarkets, taxi or mini cab drivers, transport staff, those who work in key public services, schools, or in faith-based organisations. In addition, residents who are volunteering or providing care for a vulnerable person can also apply.

A chilling quote from someone who has lost a loved one to Covid-19:

"This is real. We stuck to the rules and it still got us. It's out there and it could come for you."

Would it be silly to make the assumption that if somebody who lives in your household tests negative today, that you yourself are most likely to also be negative up to the point of the test? :noidea:

Reason for asking is that granddaughter has had two tests due to hospital admission rules. She is going to have a third one when she goes back in the end of the month and I just feel that if she hasn't picked it up and is with me pretty much 24/7, then I too must be okay.

Good assumption or silly thinking?

My daughter was still under the same roof as her Husband when he received track and trace.
