This is what's happening in our hospitals - if people bend or break the rules they need locking up:

We had a doctor who has a young family but is keeping separate from them, who was traumatised by the fact that he had lost two of his colleagues to Covid. On one shift he lost five patients pretty quickly into the shift and as soon as those beds were free, they filled up with more coming in.

He then had to phone up the relatives of the people who had sadly passed away. He said he wasn't equipped to do that - he didn't know what to say. He put the phone down and put his head on the desk and sobbed and he said: 'I can't manage it any more.'

I am interested to find out the order of those getting their jab over there. Here, the people in the seniors residences and their support workers have all gotten jabs, in places like Toronto and now the distribution is radiating out to the burbs for their old folks places. The next will be the hospitals, first nation, over 80 years, over 75 and so.

            No mention of the vulnerable.

How is the order to be over there as our health people quite often follow your lead and I'd be interested to know please?

@Fat Controller have you heard about when you get your jab? @ARMANDII how about you too? It's not been 2 years since we nearly lost you to your last "amble".

I hope they step up for the vulnerable as I know a few here who fall in that category!

Well, I had my Jab today at my Surgery, Lori, and, to be honest, it was more like a Party as everyone including the Staff were laughing and joking. There were 25 people when I was there waiting for my turn and everyone was seated at a safe distance in order of their timed appointment. I hadn't even been in the Surgery for over 3 years, although my last "amble" landed me in Hospital with several operations, were not connected with my age, but had to be dealt with so urgently that my Doctor didn't know until the first operation was over....but that's another story:dunno:
A bunch of us arrived for the Jab at the same time with a member of Staff waiting at the door. Now remember it's over 3 years since I attended the Surgery and yet there was the member of Staff reeling off all the names and ticking them off the list without even asking for names as though we were Family or old Friends.......just totally brilliant:love30:. I had the Jab within 20 minutes after chatting and laughing with every one. The Jab was done by a Nurse and recorded on their Computers within less than a minute and I spent the next 15 minutes sitting in my car waiting to see if there were any reactions from my body.....there wasn't:dunno:
It appears that there is a Mass Injection Hub in the centre of Town but the local GP's had all wanted to treat their own patients.
Anyway, it's nearly 4 hours since I had the Jab and there's been no soreness of the arm, headache, fever or any kind of adverse reaction apart from, when getting Home, feeling hungry.:heehee:

Oh, I sure got the wrong end of the stick on that one. Your system is nowhere near like ours. I went back and read that thread and it didn't say anything about a doctor visit, just that you were being hospitalized. Oops

Over here unless we are admitted to hospital on an emergency basis and that is usually only done if it is so serious you need immediate surgery/medication intravenously for an extended period etc. Otherwise we have to be sent there by doctor. A general practitioner if it is something within his realm, or he refers us to a specialist who then can schedule hospital procedures. Either way, no matter what happened at the hospital, a follow up appointment is made with the referring physician.

Must be a lot faster to get admitted into your hospital system and not having follow ups saves even more time :blue thumb:

Our prime minister dithered about ordering the vaccine and we have a sparse supply so that is why I was curious about the order of things over there - and of course thinking it would relate to the way things are done here. Turns out that was a silly assumption!

My neighbours over the Christmas period had there parents over on the 25th, 26th, 27th and 31st of December, apart from the 25th every other day was breaking the law, with losing my brother in law on the 21st to covid i was absolutely livid, my wife kept telling me not to say anything but by the 31st I'd just had enough, I wouldn't have been able to live with myself if I didn't go around and have words with them, which i did.

                  Good for you mazambo.
What are some people like, those idiots will probably not the ones catching Covid.
Sadly the numbers who have died could fill Wembley Stadium.

Well, I had to go to the Emergency Department, Lori, as I was in pain and feeling unwell as it was quicker than trying to get an appointment with the Doctor. As it was I was diagnosed and was being operated on within 6 hours of finding out what the problems were. I can't thank the Hospital staff enough as they were so caring and took quick decisions while the Consultant was just so positive and frank as he explained what needed to be done and why so quickly.

Well, the Government seem confident enough to make an ambitious target of getting people vaccinated in the priorities they've laid out, the first being over 80's. I'm in the second priority of over 60's and indeed there were several people there in their early 60's so they've obviously got things really sorted here in my area. We do have mess up's as my Sister who lives in Shropshire and is over 80 was given an appointment for the Jab two weeks ago at a Hospital over 15 miles away. Her Cleaner took her there and then they found out that she couldn't have the Pfzier jab as it's unsuitable for people with Asthma, so it was a wasted journey. But really they have her medical records at the Hospital and yet failed to recognise that she couldn't have the Jab that they were offering. She's now waiting to be offered the Astro Zenaca Jab.
The EU is suffering drastic delays to their vaccines due to one of their factories being modified to increase the production!

what did they say to you? Good on you I dont blame you.

Our brother in law told us that in their village a local councillor had all her family round between xmas and new year. He said something to her whilst out walking the dog and she just quickly turned around and walked home.

                      some people are awful!

I think I wrong footed him straight away, I just told him he might like to know my wife lost her brother through covid and what he was doing just didn't sit well with me, he gave me some bubble nonsense but I put him right on that, then told him i could have been arsey and reported him behind his back but I'd prefer to tell him to his face and to be honest there wasn't an angry word between us.

Some hospitals are vaccinating all of their staff, including those working exclusivly from home.
