    I have Paul Scarlet @ARMANDII it does pack a punch when it starts but that it doesn't flower again and the scent is nearly none existent, and vulnerable to black spot . The flowers are nice and lots of them but I do wish I bought another repeat flowering variety with more scent .

      Thank you @Logan for the tip. I shall give them a go when I get the seeds.

        @Perki
        Hi Perki, many thanks for that honest assessment of Rose "Paul Scarlet".
        [IMG]
        I actually bought it a couple of months ago at a Store called "Charlies" in Shrewsbury and I knew it not to be a repeat flower. Nearly all of my Roses, Shrub and Climbing are repeat flowering, the only exception being Climbing Rose "Alchemist"
        [IMG]
        which I saw at Barnsdale draping a Trellis entrance and just knew it was the one I wanted for climbing over the side of the Arbour, I guess that happens with certain Roses!.
        I'd been searching a suitable Rose, pot grown, to go by the Trellis Entrance since late November but where ever I looked on line the Retailer was not just saying "out of stock" for one or two Roses but for all their Roses!!!
        So, when I saw Rose "Paul Scarlet", while on a shopping trip for my Sister, at £8 I couldn't resist the chance. But, I'm not averse to moving the Rose to another site as I always have room for another Rose:dunno::heehee: , especially as the Roses seem to have come back onto the market. Do you have any thoughts on a suitable Climbing Rose for that particular spot?:scratch:

          I always have a pair with me, even in Winter as my eyes just stream in sunlight.

                  Mild here but damp. Been out and just started cutting old grasses back, cut the heads off the ice plants, the Michelmas daisies, echinacea etc etc. Just come in to warm my feet up as they have started to go a bit cold. Will be back out filling up the garden waste bin shortly.

                    Done some more weeding with this rockery, to be arranged rockwise at the finish.
                    weeds hang on for their life....not surface ones:psnp:...those tree roots have to stay..here is the tree they belong to....the thickest one almost touching the electric wires far left...

                    Going to add some more rockery plants soon..mainly from around the garden..new plants from older ones....:)

                      Just got back inside. My back is killing me! Finished off the tidying up and then cut back the wisteria....gosh they don't half sting if you get whipped in the face. Then I've just given my trusty Felcos a bit of TLC....a bit of wire wool brushing, clean up, sharpen and lubricant. Best hand tool I have ever purchased.

                                Well despite still hobbling and hopping I did manage to get outside for a while this afternoon.
                                Watered the seedlings sown last November/ December that are in the greenhouse.

                                Then managed to gently remove the leaves that the breeze/ winds blow onto the beds on the east patio. Had to be very careful as so many bulbs have emerged.

                                Was quite cold though so really enjoyed a warming cuppa that hubs made on his return from his walk.
