    Agreed.

Entirely logical :blue thumb: but it reminds me of when I had a 'discussion ' about something and said "but that's not logical" and got the rejoinder of "Don't bring logic into it - we're having an argument!"

For me that is probably because I can remember being told that there was light at the end of the tunnel around last April, the green shoots are there about last May .
Then that we were going to avoid a second wave, a vaccine would be ready by the end of summer, things will be back to near normal by Christmas.
Why do I not believe the science?, in many cases it was the government scientists telling us this .

Again, in truth, pete, I didn't have you in mind:nonofinger: but there does seem to be a permanent element in the UK who, no matter what, will always think the negative and, as shiney says, when did you ever believe what any Government told you!! What I was trying to highlight was that there seems to be a growing trend of people actually enjoying bad news and trying to exaggerate it so that they can enjoy it more.:dunno::doh:

Well yes there have always been those that revel in a crisis and always those that make millions out of one as well.
You can bet there are certain individuals and companies that really don't want this to end.

It brings to mind something our local MP said, many years ago, to a business meeting I was running:- "On this topic I can only give you the government point of view. Whether you, or I, believe it is down to personal choice". On everything else he gave us his personal point of view.

Some very sad news here. I've just found out the my Aunty has passed away in hospital. She had Covid-19 and was on oxygen. It hasn't been confirmed yet - but Covid-19 would at least have been a contributing factor.

Stay at home - don't go out because the 'rules' say it is OK to do so - my Aunty spent most of her time in her own home and it still got her. God bless her.

If we don't believe what the Government and the experts are telling us, then what do we believe?

Yes we can all pick holes in whatever any Government does or says.

The things I do believe is, we all need to stay positive and follow the Government guidelines.

Very true. Stay at home unless its absolutely necessary to go out, do not socialise. It's immensely hard, but it is the only way to control a virus that spreads on contact.

The government has the hard task of keeping the society somewhat limping ahead, but the underlying message is now clear. Stay at home.

I believe that in some years the "Eat out to help out" will become a very famous quote of totally wrong solution and messaging. But in fairness, we all thought that it's all over now in July and August...

We'll be fine in the end, this is not black death or ebola or smallpox or cholera, it's a reasonably manageable virus we will learn to overcome over time. We'll be just fine.

There really should be a second tier of nurses
Having been hospitalised I now understand the need for Nurses to have a UNI Degree
even just for the Tech Equipment they have to have knowledge of and the long training
Though there should be the old type of nurses, those that comfort the patient, change dressings,
check bedding and toileting, who could be on the wards soon after initial training

Totally agree Jack. At one time here in the UK. There was much more bonding together. Perhaps it was the remaineing effects of the war, when everyone had their backs to the wall. So this dreaded pandemic. Are we not in a similar situation?

As I mentioned. In wartime we had many auxillary and voluntee setups. Today, there are so many voluntary organisations, all willing to lend a hand. Although long ago, as a police officer and later as a parks officer. I held a St. Johns, first aid cert. I can drive etc. Let's be honest and realistic. All those poor souls who have covid and are in hospital. They are our family members, life long friends. The nursing and medical staff, they are angels on earth. Why oh why can't these blind governments admit. All the available help is needed.

@Jack McHammocklashing They do have them, they're called HCA's health care assistants and are unqualified nurses/care givers :) but sadly on the lowest level of pay.
