The true face of the EU has been exposed for all to see.

Blocking the export of vaccines made in the EU and demanding that vaccines made in the UK are exported to the EU.

Not sure I understood it correctly but isn't it true that they are demanding the vaccine that they ordered 3months later than anybody else but worse still they haven't even approved its use yet!!?

It's a shame they insist on all these checks at the border innit... shipment refused!

The EU stipulated, apparently, that the UK plants are the primary ones and should be used to supply the EU, which although signing the contract 3 months later insists the date of the signing is irrelevant. They're quite stroke inducing in their behaviour!

I dont know the full story, I'm guessing it will slowly come out, but I think its fairly simple, if they block exports of the Pfizer jab, then we block exports of the AZ jab.

Now I know its not that simple, but it is a starting point.

The fact they took 3 months longer to get round to ordering it, in my mind, puts them 3 months behind in getting it.
Never came across anything where orders are not taken in order of receipt, unless it was Thompson & Morgan making it.:roflol:

And I do agree, there does seem to be lots of hold ups at the border these day, maybe they could smooth the path between the UK and the EU for all goods.

I know if I was living in an EU country I'd be pretty mad about the EU and how they have handled it all.

We can not send any parcels to the UK. We can not receive any goods from the UK. We do not as yet have enough Vaccines to go around which is one type is coming from Belgium so obviously France needs to keep it's own orders....that is surely a normal procedure... Read the papers listen to the TV news many facts are very distorted. My Opinion based on no real knowledge of Politics just living here and having lived there.

All the more reason to leave the EU I guess.:dunno: The UK would be in a right mess if we had stayed in the EU Group Management Agreement. I wouldn't say that the People in the EU are making "heavy demands", they're just asking for some sort of efficiency and competence and that over 3 months delay has cost a lot of loss of life.:wallbanging:

More UK banks confirm Brexit account closures

We are with Nationwide and we could not access our Pensions for two months last year.. yet the account was not closed..as yet..Pensions will have to be transferred to France I guess soon. Lots of issues that are factual on both sidehttps://www.internationalinvestment.net/news/4025371/britons-eu-myriad-investment-pensions on the water of course.....funny world we live in now.

Pensions in the frame next... our currency company that we tend to use XE corporation warned us last year that they would setup an international account for ex-pats living in the EU as our present UK Account would not be valid to use come end of 2020

As I understand it, there are two main reasons for the delay in the vaccination programme in France. The EU had to get approval for the vaccines from each individual member state, and the French Government imposed stricter and more cautious controls on their efficacy. The State here (historically) takes a very responsible and, dare I say it, caring attitude towards elderly people, who are in the front line for these vaccines. As their creation and trials have been rushed through, perhaps the caution was justified by not wanting to use the elderly as guinea-pigs?

And perhaps not, noisette, here in the UK, due to the lack of knowledge of what the Virus could do it was the elderly in the Care Homes and else where that paid the price in the early months of the pandemic and who were hit the hardest. The EU has been slow in analysing the nearly 12 months of scientific data, not from just the UK, but globally that was given to it.
It's still divided even now, with the EU wanting to take part of the UK's Astro Zeneca even though it should approve the vaccine tomorrow, but there now seems to be doubt on that, and just to show the disunity Germany is now not recommending using the Astro Zeneca Vaccine for those over 65 years of age despite the scientific data suggesting that it is actually safer to use than the Pfizer vaccine. There appears to a quagmire of Bureaucracy and Politics leading to the EU tripping over it's own paperwork, committees, and disorganisation despite how you try to excuse it. The EU should have been shoulder to shoulder with the UK in it's progress with approving and making sure that jabs got into arms but, instead, it's over 3 months behind.:wallbanging:

Do you really think that the EU will ever again be 'shoulder to shoulder' with the UK??:yikes: I don't. In fact, I'm surprised and impressed by the forebearance they've shown to date.

unfortunately rules are rules...new rules new nightmares for the likes of us....If they decided to take away our healthcare cover that we have paid into the best part of our lives, we could go bust if we get real ill, without our UK S.1 ... so it is serious for millions of people, unfortunately each side is not thinking of the bigger picture, it seems to me ,as a Gardener Creature ,certainly not a Political Creature by my choice. My late Dad, bless him, had the afternoon political programmes on all the time I remember when I lived a home..drove me up the wall to be honest...We just try to switch off from this Brexit stuff but have constant reminders....

BREXIT should not and, in my opinion is not in the UK, be connected to the COVID 19 Pandemic but from what you're inferring it is in the EU!
Being shoulder to shoulder in the fight to share, discuss, and analyse the COVID 19 scientific data for the mutual benefit of people, whether in the EU or the UK, should be the goal. But you seem to be thinking that the political dislike/hatred/fury for the UK for having the temerity for leaving the EU is the reason for the EU being over 3 months behind in ordering vaccines and getting jabs into arms. We're in a global pandemic emergency, and you think Political dislike and resentment of BREXIT is the reason why the EU should not/is not prepared to stand shoulder to shoulder with the UK, that surely puts Politics before ensuring that whatever vaccines are available are approved, ordered and given to the people who need them?
Astro Zeneca is producing the vaccine and distributing their vaccine at cost to all countries and is trying to stay clear of politics but is now being attacked by the EU who are trying to cover their own bureaucratic incompetence.:wallbanging:
