Good morning all I'm not having a good night, can't sleep as I'm in too much pain so after tossing and turning for two and a half hours decided to get up and come back downstairs.

Hey ho ..it's going to be a long and uncomfortable day I fear.

Good morning all. yes volte rol is what I use but it is getting so expensive £15 I have just paid for my last lot but when you are in pain you have to pay it! I came off the Trama dol because of the side effects but am now on Za pain Codeine Phosphate/Paracetamol. Take it easy today @Upsydaisy. Rest as much as you can.
Have a good day everyone and stay safe. God bless. :wub2:

            Morning,

Just woke up. I was stuck in a dream and couldn't wake up, until one of my rascal hounds jumped up licking my face. :heehee:

Dark grey and damp today but looks very still out there. All the snow has gone now and the birdies are busy on the feeders.

            MUST go to Morrisons today.

Upsy, I feel for you. Have you tried looking up pain management mindfulness? My pilates teacher does it with us as she and other students have chronic pain in her back etc due to scoliosis etc. I try to donit when I have migraines or back ache. It may help you relax when the pain is bad xxx

Thanks, but I'm certain it's just a massive flare up of my arthritis that I've had since I was in my early 20s.
I actually took painkillers for decades including Diclofenic , but stop taking them all a few years back.
I was told that I would undoubtedly need them again once I had stopped running around for our 3 boys and all the numerous children that I had on my books...... Years later and with the slower pace of life that Covid has placed on us all , I guess it can now be said that I have stopped running around somewhat!!!

              Sadly @moyra I couldn't tolerate Zapain...had a weird effect on me.

No amount of gardening ,local walks or peddling away on my exercise bike makes up for the lifestyle I actively engaged in prior Covid .

Keeping active is the key and it seems that lockdowns and Winter weather are now taking their toll.
Roll on Spring and Summer!!! :dbgrtmb:

                Good day
I'm sorry to hear about pain issues for you two, @Upsydaisy & @moyra . I hope your medications start helping. :fingers crossed:

Sam is still slumbering :blue thumb: And I have plenty to keep my mind busy until surgery day.

I have to start composing, filing and serving papers on behalf of my son. And as everyone knows, getting motions and case conferences set up can take a lot of time and lots of triple checking to make sure it is done right. Son thinks his new place will be ready beginning of March so he may be able to get everything set up and ready for when Sam is well enough to leave here ;)

It stopped snowing last night and everything looks clean and crisp. It is well below freezing - in Celsius it would be about -14. But I'm sat inside so :dunno: no matter, right?

Have a lovely (and hopefully comfortable) day :coffee:

                  Aloha everyone,

It was a busy day today. :phew:

Apart from some gardening I had to go to Barry to get a lot of paperwork that has come through from the benefits people. He had finally received copies of his statements from the bank (has his benefits paid into them) and I needed to fill in all the forms. He had cleaned all the papers and put them in an envelope outside his flat and I picked them up. We both wore masks. I'm now his official 'Appointee' so the officials have to talk to me and not him.

I took copies of all papers, filled in the forms (nots of N/A's filled in on about 70% of the questions. They still needed all the paperwork and statements although they had agreed on the phone that he can still keep his benefits. A load of worthless bureaucracy seeing he has been disabled from birth and is now 50! all done now and will be picked up by the postman tomorrow.

Sorted out nine meals that we had cooked and frozen for one of Mrs Shiney's patients which he came and collected. Took some fresh meals to an 88 year old lady down the road. Sorted out some blankets and clothes for collection by a local charity and then took time to do things for ourselves.

I was just about to relax when I received an email, from the treasurer, about payments needing to go to HMRC for NIC for the caretakers at the village hall - I'm the signatory on the bank account.

I've just finished playing bridge all evening.

Time for some apple and blackberry crumble with Greek yoghurt befor I put my feet up in front of the TV.

                  Keep well

                  Aloha!

I've just been out for a walk to the village (Sainsbury's delivery today didn't have courgettes ).

The two miles used to take about 35 minutes. It took 38 minutes - getting old :old: :)

It was like a Spring day, sunny and very mild but the wind picked up on the way back and got a bit draughty. :rolleyespink:

                          Good day,
Sounds like everyone is having a good start to the day.

It is -15c and expected to go up to -10c. The guessers say tonight we get -20c Brrrrr!

Sam is sleeping and we now have nust 24 hours until her operation. I've been worried that there would be a sudden ca cellation due to the virus but so far.. :fingers crossed:

I've got lots of bits of paperwork to take care of today and I have an appointment with a notary to put his magic seal on some court documents. I'll be glad when all this legal garbage is finished. The courts here are less than helpful and keep urging you at every turn, to hire a lawyer. Smacks of something not right

Have a lovely day all and keep warm :coffee:

                            .animated_1611897451154.gif Morning everyone.
Been a bit poorly the past few days, headache which wouldn't shift. Turns out that the Nurofen l was taking was causing it !
I take a cocktail of pain relief for all my ailments, but because my antidepressants had been changed ll was not meant to be taking Nurofen.
Anyway, my sinuses were also really blocked my ears were both aching, l felt as though my head was in a fishbowl. Suffice to say that it's all
Yesterday I received an email from British Airways telling me that a flight l booked for Easter to see my sister in Italy had been moved forward by 2 weeks. Obviously with the current situation l half expected there to be changes. I have now been given the option of either taking the new date ( nah) or a full refund. Originally this was a booking for last summer that was cancelled so this will be the second cancellation. I have now decided to take a full refund which British Airways have agreed to ( l expected nothing less) and hope that in the not too distant future l will be able to visit my family again.
We also had another cancellation yesterday, this time about my grandsons back molars, again this will be the second cancellation, but better be safe than sorry. My grandson is only 8 and because he has a genetic problem with his mouth it necessitates an operation under sedation. He is well enough anyway and not life threatening.
I took possession of a free fish tank yesterday and am going to convert it into a propagator,so a job for the weekend. I have had to do this to keep my cat from eating my seedlings !! So also likes to sit on top of one of my other propagators because it's warm:help:.
Anyway, as they say, onwards and upwards, today is another day:wub2:

Another bad night ,so I've been up for a couple of hours already. I will be so glad to finally get the x-rays done in a fortnight and then hopefully get to resolve the problem.

Wishing Sam all the best today for her surgery, another step closer along the pathway to recovery...it's certainly been a long haul for her, Lori and family.:grphg:
