Hi All, I have these popping up everywhere in the front garden. Any idea what they are?

Look like young willowherb seedlings to me.

I was just about to type the name and say I have loads when wham!
I've gone blank. I'm in the fifth week of recovering from covid and I can tell you, it rots your brain cells. Some one better answer this quick because I won't sleep tonight if I can't remember it

I think it's valerianella locusta, corn salad. Tiny white flowers and it's meant to be edible.
I had to scroll back through hundreds of photos to find some that were growing beneath a leycesteria as I knew I'd named it.....at least I think I've got the right stuff:noidea:

Well, thanks, @flounder! Now I know it's proper name, I'll drop the epithet I've been using
I think the OP's weed is probably willowherb, though. It looks awfully familiar....

No, not convinced with a willow herb. I know there are hundreds of different types, most which grow in my garden, but the initial growth is very similar to myosotis, not epilobium

Just remembered a common name for them, lambs lettuce. I still don't think it's epilobium, but we'll see in about three months time

I get a lot of that growing too. Ive been pulling it up as a weed. Can I eat it instead then?

I've personally never tried it as I prefer iceberg or romaine! A quick read suggests this was used by peasants as a form of sustenance. I might try it now, as I've been called a lot worse!

It's a badge of honour here  The French do still eat all sorts of wild salads. Mache (Lamb's Lettuce), Pissenlit (Dandelion), Pourpier (Purslane), Fat Hen, Amaranthus ....

Ive actually bought a bag of lambs lettuce in Asda in the past and Ive all of a sudden remembered I had a packet of seeds of it last year...I guess that's where its come from. Of course if you don't hear from me again its because I ate it and it wasn't Lambs Lettuce after all...........

Thanks all. I don’t think I will risk eating it and will get rid of it. Didn’t want to get rid if it was something like forget me not ( no such luck).
