The dining table and chairs would be popular even today in someones flat. Lovely colour and smooth corners.

We said the same thing. Actually had a red one in the 60s but not as nice as that. Imagine how much they would cost now?

@Victoria I used to really like operating my Mother's wringer washer. Wish I had one today as you could let that thing chug away on dirty diapers until every last bit of soil was loosened off to rise away. Zero stains. Used to use a piece off a broom handle for oushing things through the wringer after hearing the horror stories of hands going in there!

I still have an ancient metal bread box that I now use for storing electrical fittings. It's on an old metal stand/table in the greenhouse and done up in posh wood grain mac tac!

I liked to feed all kinds of doings through my mums mangle. With the girl next door we would roller through rose petals then mix them in a jam jar and water to make 'perfume' ... Happy summer days.

Love it, so practical. We had a metal one too, very modern though painted cream with a floral pattern decal. We have a stainless steel one here (same shape) but keep packaged biscuits in, bread in the fridge or freezer.
