Hi all, I’m hoping some knowledgable type can help me.

I went on a bit of a buying spree with plants last year (like many of us) and many of them had long delivery dates and I may have (ahem definitely did) forgotten what I ordered!

Today some lovely vinca minor and Bowles mauve arrived in 9cm pots. Great .... except the spots I had in mind for them are now sporting some nice spring bulbs pushing through (mainly crocuses) which I’d hate to lose before they get going.

Would I be better to try to squeeze them in or delay planting out and pot on for now?

    Thanks in advance.

Bowles mauve , a perennial, will form quite a sizeable plant over a few years and finding a suitable place now would be best however, it can cope with being potted on and planting out later on if you can't decide where to put it.

Just a quickie. If the plant still has plenty of room in it's pot, then leave it for a while. If it's a tight fit, or say a bare root . Then pot it up in a suitable size pot/container, water and stand it in a protected spot until a planting space becomes available. However, try and not forget it.

That is one plant on my list to have... having had one in the Uk it was planted in the shady side and spread towards the Sun as needs must, the flowers never stopped flowering, always reminded me of wallflowers on long stems....

I'd leave them in their pot for now. The bulbs won't last long so you'll be able to plant them in the spring after the bulbs finish flowering. It's only a few weeks.
As @Mike Allen suggests maybe you could plant them in a larger pot for the time being if they seem cramped.
