A while ago Mrs Scrungee said she needed some spices from the shops, so I ordered them at the same price or thereabouts from Amazon ('free' Prime delivery) and they arrived at lunchtime.

But what I hate about Amazon is delivery times suddenly changing after ordering, and finding out your pair of slippers are being sent from Barcelona, or that cheap tin of boot wax is being sent from Germany, etc.

Got a text from AO dot com informing me the appliance I ordered will be delivered on Thursday, but I haven't ordered anything, plus my name's not Darren.

Looked like a genuine error rather than a scam (having ordered from them recently), When I get some mis-input text, email, answerphone message I will always spend some time trying to sort it out.

AO's contact details are a labyrinth that leads into endless pages of FAQ's, so I went straight for their 'chat', but after a few minutes of nonsensical responses I started to wonder whether this was really a foreign call centre with an appalling grasp of English.

So I asked "Are you a robot?" - and immediately got the response "transferring you to an operator", from whom I got a sensible and appreciative response.

Must try that one next time I contact Amazon customer services.

Not a moan - I'm not keen on buying things online but consider it a necessary evil. Mrs Shiney ordered something from Amazon Sunday evening (we don't have Prime as we rarely order anything) and it was delivered 10.05 Monday morning. We didn't even have a chance to track it! :heehee:

Latest moan....why do I have crazy neighbours? Got back from a dog walk yesterday and a cctv sign had been placed in their window that faces directly onto our drive/entrance. 5 mins later it had gone. The police have already told them to remove the camera they had pointing at us.

          Honestly, why?!!!!

I think this lockdown has turned people crazy....or crazier in their case.

          Exhausting!

You never know, perhaps they've turned a new leaf @Snorky85 ( agree some people are acting strangely) and saw you go out and decided ( Ok...probably a bit optimistic here I know) to be neighbourly and watch over your property.:)

On the otherhand.....leopards don't change their spots, but no harm in living in hope.
Must wear you both down though.

I have been caught out by Amazon....unless you change from the - free trial of prime for 30 days...and then they take monthly payment - box before checkout, this is how they sign you up. It is much more difficult to opt out after you realise, I think I just ended up cancelling the debit on my bank account.

We had that problem although we didn't sign up. They were putting us on Prime automatically. It happened a few times but we got it sorted each time pretty quickly. A phone call, not kept holding on more than a minute or two, and an immediate refund.

Nowdays I'm more concerned that Amazon might accidentally cancel my Prime membership.

As I was about to sow some seeds this morning I noticed they were a couple of years beyond their use by date and probably no longer viable. Rather than possibility waste my time sowing them and maybe lose weeks of growing season waiting for them to never germinate, I immediately ordered some more from Amazon to be delivered before 1pm tomorrow. (But still sowed a few to check before chucking them out)

Car insurance! I got the renewal notice for my car and expected it to be lower than last year because cars aren't being used as much as they were. I did my usual shopping around online before phoning my current insurer and other insurers. I can always get a better result by phone :blue thumb:

Last year it cost me £407 (fully everything :heehee:) and the renewal came in at £498. I was not a happy bunny . Online quotes came out about £375. I then haggled with my current insurer (have two cars and the house and contents with them) and eventually got them down to £298 for exactly the same cover. :hapydancsmil:

So the renewal quote was a rip off :wallbanging: but didn't work

OK, so you can select how many canes you want and how thick. Perhaps it might have been a good idea to tell how tall the canes are

I consider myself to be placid man, but I can see myself changing, very soon. Notice the other day, lots of garden muck was close to my workshop door. It wasn't mine. Tufts of grass and dog waste, poo. I call it something else. Obviously the neighbour downstairs has been chucking her unwanted, over the high fence.
She has an underlying medical problem, mental. Since she moved in, nust be about twenty years ago she really has played her sad card ( equal to a race card). Her place is a tip. I and others have helped her with the garden. Never a thank you. A year ago. I asked her to cut her forsythia back. It's up past my bedroom window and I am often kept awake due to the branches scraping the wall. Her reaction, a silly grin. Then a section of the gutter broke loose, it eventually fell down. I contacted the council who is our landlord. Two guys turned, and seeing the state of the place, reported back to the office. Another chap arrives and arms waiving etc, he obviously told her to clear the garden up so that the workmen could erect a scaffold etc. Nothing has been done. I have a pretty strong stomach but looking out of the kitchen window. She hasn't cleared up after the dog, an Irish Wolfhound type. Due to the wet weather and the dog trying to find a vacnt spot to poo, there are several inches of dog waste trampled into the soil. I can't image what her flat smells like. Having experienced before, cooking with the window open, cieling and extractor fan going, the kitchen soon is full of flies. She did say at one point, that she was thinking of moving. I nearly said. Go on then. She will never clear her place up. I rekon she would accept eviction. Then the council would have to clean up. As soon as this cid thing is out of the way, I think I will have to make an official complaint.

completely understand the situation your in and take my hat off to you..I would have dealt with the situation in a different unfriendly way, sorry to say that, but dog poo is not something I expect to have to deal with..dog owners are mainly responsible people....

Just bought a couple of bags of compost and a couple of grit and apparently they are suitable for Vegans. What?!
Then get a letter regarding car insurance they have "enhanced my policy by moving it to a company in Gibraltar and increased the glass damage excess from £75 to £100
