    This appeared in my front yard last year. I rescued it but wasn't able to identify it. I thought it dead (it was not happy about being moved) but it's come back nicely, so I'm trying again!

    Some sort of kniphofia possibly? Seems very long for that though. The longest leaves are about 2ft so far, and don't stand up very well (it's propped against the bench to get them in frame but they are bent). V shaped leaves.

    I would keep a close eye on that, it has the look of Carex pendula which is a terrible seed weed.

      Definitely not that, I have several. It's much more fine and elongated.

      There's an Iris with leaves that are similar. Sorry, it just won't come to mind at the moment. :scratch:

          Goodness..how the heck did you arrive at Libertia?
          Name is just Libertia...Not Iris libertia.
          I wouldn't have been able to be positive what it was until it flowered....
          long straight green leaves...could be many things!
          Libertia are fab...good in shade...form big clumps.

            I've only seen this plant once Silver Surfer and I was told it was called Iris Libertia....I consider myself corrected. :)

              LIBERTIA  AMAZING  GRACE 18-05-2009 17-27-14.JPG LIBERTIA  AMAZING  GRACE 21-05-2009 19-36-30.JPG We planted Libertia peregrinans in old garden.
              It was VERY happy. Spread by roots.
              Years later spent over 2 days pulling it all out.

              Others well behaved/clump forming.
