I agree, I have always checked receipts ( maybe an age thing?) but am finding more mistakes,
Especially in garden centres! Money which should come off just doesn’t ( the computer says no) think I may be getting well known there now for asking them to do the sums.

I've heard a rumour that ship stuck across the Suez Canal is full of tinned food, pasta and Ibuprofen, and those stuck behind it are full of bog rolls.

My new filter taps for the kitchen are possibly somewhere around there as well.

If they didn't stack the bloody things so high maybe they wouldn't get blown around in strong winds.

The errors are always to their advantage. I also check my receipts but I also shop by units, the so called deals don't always tend to be deals at all. I tend to avoid the big supermarkets, I personally don't like them.
During this pandemic I have been doing the shopping for my parents as they are 86 and 82 respectfully, so I have been doing the shopping at the supermarkets mainly for convenience but also my wife works for the NHS so they have been giving us 10% discount. What I don't like about the supermarkets is how they inflate prices so they can give discounts for multiple purchase's. A prime eg was Morrison's, Lurpak spreadable was £2.75 one week, yet the following week it had gone up to £3.85 but was on offer for 2 for £5. Why don't they just keep it a fair price, I feel for those on lower incomes who can't afford to buy in multiple's.

I was asked to do a survey for morrisons once, one of the questions asked how can we stop food waste.
Stop multi buys was my answer.

Sometimes it's cheaper for me buy three of something and throw one away.

I keep embarrassing The Teenager with this story.

When she was nearly two years old I thought it pedagogical to involve her in the daily tasks. Whilst scrubbing the bathroom, I gave her a sponge and showed how to scrub the floor tiles.

After some minutes of mutual scrubbing and self-congratulating thoughts from my side, The Baby started to cry.

It turned out that she had experimented with the spare toilet rolls and the bucket of dirty water and came to the conclusion that a) toilet rolls float, but not for very long and b) this probably was not a very good idea.

                            Bless the baby her. :heehee:

I hope they get the Suez situation sorted out quickly, what a waste when ships have to turn back and cover thousands of extra miles because of this incident.

They are going to stop. There's guidelines from gov. about it and may be made a law if it doesn't work.
