Camellias suspect i over watered

    No its just moist alot! Better leave it to dry more and i dont water..what you think?? Also its bettsr i put wood barks in it again or better not? Where is it no sun present and no drafts..and wind..

    Personally I don't like top dressing on pots, you cannot see the moisture content of the compost as easily.

    I never put grit around my cacti, for that reason, admittedly camllias like a much damper soil so not such a problem .

    So i better leave them without thanks alot..what you think re liquid fertilizer? I give them? They are relotted 2 months ago..or leave them?

    Don't think I would feed until you can see roots through the drainage holes on the bottom of the pot .

    So i will not feed but since im not getting so much blooms just only 3 or 4 flowers and the other buds are falling its normal? Maybe still stabilizing? Thats why i tought maybe i feed?

    You do get some buds fall, but it can be other reasons, feeding is not always the answer.

    Your plants are still young and settling in, you are unlikely to get many more flowers this year.
    The important time for next years flowers is this summer as that's when camellias form their flowerbuds. Dry conditions then mean no flowers next spring, so keep them consistently damp over the summer, a mulch of bark chippings will help. Not sure how keen they will be on a Maltese summer, so keep them somewhere cool and with some shade.

      One of the !most important things is to make sure only Ericacius compost is used if you are repotting.I would not feed if your plant is under stress..

      Feeding time is best in very late Summer, when buds are forming...
      EPSOM SALTS in a weak solution is very effective and economical.
