Hi from Yorkshire

Hello, very excited to be here. I am a complete beginner to gardening, having lived in rentals most of my adult life and not needing to provide upkeep for gardens as they have all been small 'yards' that are fully concreted up.

Bought a house a few years ago with a small-ish garden that had a lot of vegetation and huge deep flowerbeds that were allowed to get quite overgrown as we just didn't have much spare time. Now in a new-build with a blank canvas and are determined to learn lots as we go and enjoy creating a space that looks good and also trying to find stuff to grow that is non-toxic to cats so our boss can have a safe place to sunbathe and nap in!

May I suggest you enter your area (your county will do) assuming you live in Britain, in your avatar box please. This is a good guide for other members on your climate etc. being so different from one end of the country to the other.
