Hello all. Please could you offer advice on my poorly heavenly bamboos. Planted last year in peat free multipurpose compost in pots. These are in partial shade in our garden in North Yorks.
Now they are turning brown and losing leaves. What to do...add mulch, fertiliser, bone meal? Offer up sacrifices?
    Please help me save them.
    Thank you.

Nandina tend to look a bit scraggly over winter. They aren't deciduous, but the leaves go autumn colours and then get new growth in spring to (partly) replace the old ones. Pots are going to need watering around now though - it's been unusually dry, just as things are really getting going.

Thanks. I'm rather relying on your advice as they are looking...um.. dead. Fingers crossed.

As JWK says, keep it watered.

Nandinas are pretty slow at growing, or really doing anything. They're pretty resilient too. A bit of fertiliser occasionally wouldn't hurt, but mainly just leave it to its own devices.
