What are those concrete slabs going into the canal Philip? Drains? Fishing platforms? :heehee: I love the way Foxy Molly keeps her toes to the solid side of the bridge. :doggieshmooze:

@Victoria ,..hi Victoria,..those are wooden fishing platforms,..nobody fishing of late though there are good fish in that canal,..i have hooked some 10 pounders there,..there are Pike/Tench/Perch/Gudgeon to be caught,..not forgetting eels,..Oh Duck use under those platforms to nest as well.

Ah yes Foxy Molly is cute enough to keep at least two legs on the solid area,..sometimes as seen all three.

I had a close encounter with the Covid Virus in the past 5 days,..a friend called on Sunday last to replace two tap washers,..on Tuesday his Wife contacted the Virus,..he phoned today ( Thursday ) to say he now had it and how was i feeling,..just all the usual aches and pains which i tend to ignore,..lol we were trained to ignore pain,..the training doesn't work :wallbanging: :gaah::)

Wow, those are impressive! Do you like fish? I only like tinned fish except for smoked haddock and kippers (and fish and chips like last night).

@Victoria ,..i have a fish dinner two or three times per week,..Cod,..Haddock,..Whiting,..for a good snack its Prawn Coctail,..Prawn Curry ( Home Cooked ) or just Red Crab,..i seldom eat the river fish nor the lake fish as they seem tasteless unless well added with Herbs,..fresh fish is sold in our Market Square quite often and comes from the West Coast,..just half an hour away.

The fish in the above post were all released,..for years i have tried to beat the fish i caught when i was 14 years old,..a 21 Lb Pike sadly the closest i got was the 19 Lb Pike.

So you had fish and chips last night :stirpot:,..thats a meal i like but am never able to make it taste like the fish and chip shop,..just like you i like the smoked haddock cooked in milk is very tasty.

Morning Philip. We have an "English" bar/restaurant here in the country about 10-12 minutes from us. Well, he was English *sadly died suddenly in January) she is Nicaraguan. The chef is English. They always do fish and chips on Fridays. Must admit neither of us like greasy fried chips so do oven chips ourselves and have a slice of bread and butter.

                  I'm glad you haven't caught the Virus @glengarry23 ...

Fish is good for us, it's the only dead animals I eat. I have several fish meals in a week but unlike you I buy it in a shop :heehee:

Hi Victoria,..chips came to mind tonight for dinner though it was with Striploin Steak n Onions.

I do call to our local Chipper that does a beautiful fish in batter,..the chips are luckily crispy,..this shop has another premises within 10 mins drive also very good,..they are Italian family and pride themselves on good and cheap food,..non greasy i should add :)

The river walk starts abou 3 mins from the house and heading north where it meets the canal,..that canal runs from the river around the outskirts of the town and joins the river on the south side,..that really means we are on an island,..canal and river ringed around us.
