@Vince have you got oil seed rape in your fields? We've got it behind our bungalow at the moment but luckily it's usually on a 3 year crop cycle.

Thanks @Upsydaisy - I can't wait to free up space, feels very over crowded in the ghouse.

My plan for today was to plant Four Sunflowers, I dug two holes, lovely Sunshine, then I felt a drip or two and then the rain dropped. I got soaked quickly clearing the tools into the shed.

I changed clothes, the Sun came out, so I put the final Two plants in together with Slug pellets.

Rain forecast all day today but didn't arrive until 4pm. Glorious sunshine before that. Planted out the children's sunflowers. I couldn't pot them up as quickly as they were growing.
Also planted out Nasturtium (tom thumb) and 4 Penstemon cuttings I had taken a few weeks ago.

Popped to the local GC for some rooting powder. (Using for the first time) I'm adamant I'm going to get some cuttings to work from a Clematis (so many) that I have :love30:

Found a mass of slugs having an illegal gathering (more than 6) under a Saxifraga so they got arrested and sent to slug prison. Also charged with eating the new growth on my Salvia Amistad :nonofinger:

I put mine out last week @Snorky85 - a few leaves have gone a bit droopy and sad around the edges but otherwise all good

My many pelargoniums also went out last week - they have now had saucers under pots removed...

Finished sowing the wallflower seeds got 510, they're germinating well this year because it's not so hot.

Good, at least I'm not suffering alone! :roflol:

Seriously tho, hope "annihilated" is an overstatement! :yikes: I've never known such heavy hail here in Notts, was actually genuinely relieved that all my plants were undamaged after a quick inspection! :phew:

Some of you may recall that I've been worried that my Dahlias might not have survived their 2nd winter of being left in the ground, especially as we've had so many minus temps this winter (including a fair few -7's). Over the last couple of weeks I've been relieved to have discovered 2 showing signs of life :hapydancsmil: , well today I found 5 more!!!!!. That only leaves 2 more in the ground to show their faces now, all the rest are in pots.:yahoo: Very happy indeed, I did sow some emergency Bishops Children this year ( not my favourite, but that's all I had and I was desperate) ,so I now have those to find a home for in the borders .

What have I been doing ,trying without success to dodge the heavy showers mostly. In the end I just gave up and got wet...again. I have been repotting some of my Giant Lillies that have suddenly put on an amazing growth spurt and outgrown their pots, I was right in the middle of doing so when the heavens opened, couldn't leave them so just had to put up with getting soaked. Now back to glorious sunshine again!!

Repotted some of the Hostas also this afternoon but that ,along with the Lilles, is all I've done out there today as I've bad migraine and bending down to do anything makes it thump more. All I've got left to do this evening is to check over the plants in the greenhouse and cold frames, most have been out in the rain so are well watered, all doors are now left open at night to harden them off. I've also got to replace the slug proof covers over my ' happy to see Dahlias' ..:yahoo:...nothing will get to nibble them:nonofinger:. I leave all these final tasks until about 8 ish.
