Hello all

I hope you are well.

I have been thinking, bad for me, I know

As has been documented here, I am having the Patio re-done in the first week of August.

The furniture I am looking to add would be a 2.1m x 0.8m Oak Sleeper Table and two 2.1m Sleeper Benches, so they will be fairly heavy.

How long would I need to wait after the Patio is laid before I can add heavy furniture?

Any suggestions?

Sorry, I can't help you with that as I have gravel. I think you will have to ask the landscaper.

Sorry, I have not been too good lately and missed your reply.

I will ask the Landscaper once the work is done.

I have had to split the Drip Irrigation into two Zones, the Back Garden and the Front Garden as the run was exceeding the recommended length and the water flow was not ideal at the furthest points.

Basically, I had the Supply Hose from the Water Timer go to a Tee and then one side went to the Back Garden and the other side went to the Front Garden.

I have now replaced the Water Timer with a Dual Outlet version and set the Back Garden to come on at 05:00 for 1 Hour and then the Front Garden to come on at 06:01 for 1 Hour, 3 times a Week.

Everything is growing well

It's looking fab @Kevin Cowans . I especially love the clematis (?) along the fence, and the water feature.

Yes, it is a Clematis Montana 'Mayleen', it has grown very well since it was only planted in September 2019.

I still have some work to do with the landscaping around the water feature but it is getting there.

Did you get the garden furniture figured out? I was thinking just chairs and no sofas/loveseats. That way you cane place them with better precision?

As discussed earlier, I am having to get the Patio and Paving redone in the first week of August due to various issues so the furniture is on hold until September at the earliest.

I will be getting a 2m Sleeper Table, two 2m Sleeper Benches and a Cube Seat in Green Oak.

That is cool! A picnic table set made out of railway sleepers. Never seen one before and that is a nice design. Someone tall can pull the bench a little further out from the table since it is not fixed.

I spoke to the person who makes them and he has said that he can make the table and benches any height that is required.

With me being 6'5" that is very useful as I can specify the height which is comfortable for me.

Hi Kevin, not sure if you got an answer for this question about your new patio?

Assuming it is being laid professionally or by yourself to a professional standard. In warm weather (August), your new patio will be fine to walk on after 24hrs, after which time, I imagine the grouting will be done. Mortar will typically reach a 60% cure strength in that time and on average, set to full strength after 4 weeks.

The weight of the sleeper table and benches will be distributed across multiple slabs, so in my (none professional) opinion, I would feel safe to use the patio at least 48hrs after the grouting stage. If you wait the full 4 weeks, it'll be September before al fresco dining.

The work will be done professionally and the pointing will be done with a Resin Compound.

So, if I get the furniture sorted in September then all should be well.
