Now I see the only space you have and being at 1500 ft I understand what you are trying to achieve. A well ventilated greenhouse will help extend the season.

    Who are these other growers?

Different forum to this one……..but they are growing in pollys and greenhouses, but i wanted to ask for as much advice as possible, before embarking on the build after this summers bounty has been harvested.

Well I have never heard of anyone growing them in tunnels or greenhouses in the uk, must admit my experience has been in Yorkshire and then the south east so maybe they are used elsewhere. The big issue with trying to extend the season is low light levels rather than cold when growing brassicas.

It was a crazy spring this year, I agree, but any overwintered Brassicas will grow through that, maybe come a bit later, but will adapt.

Purple sprouting broccoli is pretty tough, might need a net to keep the pigeons off and sparrows in a hard winter. My family grew it every year in Lincolnshire back in the 60s and 70s and I've grown it every year since, probably does less well in milder modern Devon winters than on the East coast.
I have heard of growing Chinese brassicas.
I would be interested to know more could you let me have a link to your sources.

We have a member on here, Kristen who has covered his whole veg plot with a large greenhouse and grows just about every thing under cover. It certainly gives some control over the growing environment and it works for him.

I searched Kristen's thread and can't find anything about growing brassicas in his greenhouse.

Spacing for caulis is 2ft apart so in a 2.4 X 0.6 M greenhouse you will get 4 or 5 plants.
