After pruning, shredding and weeding yesterday today I will plant plants, got violas, tithonias, sunflowers, verbascums, a couple of mahonias, another buddleja, an unusual lilac (Syringa pinnatifolia) and then back to weeding.

Planted the rest of the cosmos in some pots that have some daffodil bulbs in so I planted on top of them. Also did the same with some verbena bonerenses and put them under the kitchen window.

It was too hot to do much. I watered lots of things, and put pots of spring bulbs in an alleyway to finish dying off. I don't think they'll be any good next year though, they're not usually.

This morning before it got too hot I tied up the tomato plants.
Is it too late to prune the blueberry bushes? Don't usually do it but they need a bit of a boost by trimming them, some didn't fruit because of it.

Still catching up with my planting, got celery, celeriac, hardy carnations, everlasting flowers and gladioli in the ground at the allotment. Hoed the other beds and watered. Picked a few strawberries, they are so nice.

Decided that I would make a start on enlarging the hole that is going to be the second pond. Been putting it off for ages as not looking forward to hours of digging. However, ground was rock hard and couldn't get space in. Soaked the ground with hose pipe for awhile, which helped but after two spadefulls the soil was bone dry again. Weather has been beautiful today, so very quickly decided to exchange the spade for a zero on the patio. And that is where I remained all day :heehee::heehee::loll::loll::loll::loll:.
