It appears that there are still some people who would rather catch/spread Covid19 - they just can't be bothered to attend the appointment they made to have their jab - the Sun is out after all.

One vaccination centre in a neighbouring Council area:

38% of patients booked in today did not attend their appointment. That’s around 400 people who did not turn up without cancelling or rescheduling.

With the vaccines being a fragile temperature sensitive item they have to be used within a defined timeframe or will go to waste, however due to a huge effort from vaccination staff they managed to call people in to make sure ‘no doses were wasted’. This is a huge admin burden on staff to undertake during a clinic.

You can lead a horse to water, but....

@clanless the problem with vaccine hesitation over here seems to be the old ones. They are the majority of those in ICU on ventilators. And why is this when they were the first in line? Apparently lots are saying they don't want to take the risk of the possible side effects. :rolleyespink:

It's bonkers. Have a look at the possible side effects on a box of aspirin. Yet, people have a box in their bathroom cabinet and don't give it a second thought.

These people are relying on those around them to stop the virus - it's a risky strategy. Most of the people in hospital in the UK are young and unvaccinated. They are not as ill and don't stay in as long - but Boris is keeping the current restrictions. It is true that some double vaccinated people are in hospital - but apparently they have other underlying health conditions.

We've got to get back to normal and soon.

Good afternoon we have all had both jabs in Woos nest but I do know a lot of people of all ages including NHS staff and care homes staff who for one reason or another have refused to have the jab however it is their choice and I do respect their decision:smile:

                  I'm so excited.

19 July still 'looking good' to be terminus point for restrictions in England, Boris Johnson says

I can only respect those that cant have the vaccine for medical reasons or age.
The rest are no better than anyone who refuses to wear a mask.

I hate wearing masks and the distancing rubbish, but I do it because that is the rules.
If you WONT take a vaccination, then you are not thinking of others;)
Because that is the stick they are using to beat those that wont wear a mask etc.

We got our first vaccines today, Pfizer, go back for second on 22 July. Easy Peasy. It was almost empty as we were in Observation area for 30 minutes,

Check-in to right, Folk waiting vac back center, Five white canvas "booths" to left, doctor on duty (red chair facing "audience") just in case. Lovely folk all round.

Forgot a funny bit. There were four check-in folk, three girls, one guy. We had the guy who called out "Mr Jim and Vicky". We go up and he filled out both forms simultaneously. Last question ... "Are you pregnant?" ... immediately Jim patted his tummy and the guy patted his and they compared ... and I was ignored!

I needed to book for a mammogram and a bone density test. They needed to know when I had my vaccination and I told them end of April and last one going to be August 1 or 2.

They said good - come in July 13 for them. They cannot do this type of testing if it is within 6 weeks of having either shot.

                            Interesting?
