Will a tray of dahlias grow back

    Hi,

    Last week I took delivery of 20 dahlias plants, which I potted up. Due to the past week's rain, I was unable to get out crawling in my back garden. Today I've been out and found all these dahlias stripped of their leaves.

    Will they grow new leaves, if I move them to the greenhouse where I was going to put them if it hadn't started to rain?

    I think they probably will, but not sure that they will flower this year.
    They do grow fast given lots of sunshine and water and food.

    Thanks @pete , I'm not bothered if they don't flower this year, just as long a I haven't lost them I'll be happy.

      It was probably slugs, they love dahlias and rain. Make sure you don't accidentally bring slugs hiddden under the pots when you move them to your greenhouse.

        Well @JWK , It was actually a slug, as I found it in the tray. Transferred all the pots out into a new tray scraping the bottoms on the ground making sure nothing was on them.

          Earlier in the year all new growth on my dahlias was completely nibbled away by slugs and snails. I had to resort to slug pellets even though I don't like using them, they recovered and now have flower buds.
