Surprising what you can find just wandering around locally. Reduced strumming and grass cutting has helped, and even things like no cutting of grass for village fete (cancelled) car parking has helped wild flowers seed and spread.

Ah, Drosera  ... there used to be a marsh near here where they grew but there's an industrial estate built there now.

Gosh @Michael Hewett - where was that? I didn't realise drosera grew here in Carmarthenshire - though I had been told of them up in some hills in Pembrokeshire.

There are all three here, Round leaved everywhere and also Oblong and Greater but I am surrounded by lowland heath and lots of boggy areas.

It's the round one I've seen growing here @strongylodon

@CarolineL it's in the east, where Carmarthenshire, Powys, and the former Glamorganshire all come together. It's an area of hills, moorlands, and marshes. However I only saw it in two locations, one of which is now an industrial estate.

Last of this year's native Orchids, Autumn Ladies Tresses, so small you could easily miss them and tread on one.

Early Spider Orchid, a little late this year and most are very small, just up to 9" high.
                          Easily overlooked and trodden on!
