I have a few geraniums in my garden, and the seeds spread all over my artificial grass.

I have to bend down to pull each one out. So I looked for something that could make the job easier, and found a rake advertised by Express Grass. The 86 reviews confirmed it would rake out debris from the lawn, and one reviewer said it removed small weeds as well.

So I bought one. As a rake it works well. But remove weeds it does not. It doesn't even take the leaves off them. So a bit disappointed.

However apparently, boiling water, or white vinegar will kill them. So room for experiment.

Personally I wouldn't use vinegar or boil hot water on artificial grass cause it may / probably damage it . I assume it geranium robertianum which does self seed around , the easiest and fastest solution is to carry on pulling out by hand , if you have back problems weed killer is probably the other way to go.

      Hi Perki.

I got the ideas from wikihow.

As you see from the article. You still have to pull them out. So a weed killer is still the best answer.

I think using vinegar on most types of artificial grass is fine, I have even heard of it being used to disinfect it or get rid of smells. In the long run, you might like to consider installing a weed membrane underneath the surface to prevent weeds from coming up.

      Hi Josh.
They put a membrane down when they laid the grass. the weeds mainly take root in the grass mat itself, and are quite easy to pull out, if a bit annoying.

I havn't got as far as getting vinegar.
