Can anyone advise please. I have my paperbush in a very large pot. I have had it for 3 years. The green leaves are abundant and I'm now wondering at what time of the year should I prune this (or at all?). I don't want to stop the beautiful flowers appearing during the winter months).

I really like these, have a tropical look about them.
Can't really advise as I have never grown one, but I I believe I'm right in saying they flower in the spring?

If so, I would do any pruning after flowering.
Can you not plant it in the ground.

Thank you very much for your reply. No I have (ashamedly) had my garden paved over for simplicity. Its quite a large garden so would have taken a lot of work. But I have quite a lot of pots with all sorts of plants in and are doing really well. The flowers finish about March if I remember correctly so I will get the pruning done then. That has helped because I wasn't sure if I should prune before it flowers in the winter. I absolutely love it. Very expensive but well worth the money.

If you were to prune before the flowers you would probably have to cut some off.
General rule is if it flowers before June you prune after flowering, if it flowers after June, you prune in winter.
