Narr, that's one of those extra large remote controls designed for old folk, they have big buttons.

Thanks a lot gks:).How long did it take you to find this photo of me? I’m not even pensionable age( lie!) but the strain of trying to grow cauliflowers bigger than ones you could stick in your eye has taken it’s toll!

Checked mine yesterday at the allotment, there is no sign of hearts yet but they look healthy. I picked the first of the brussel sprouts, they are about 6 weeks later than I expected, so maybe its been a poor season for brassicas. I hope you are doing better than me @jowwy ?

I grow igloo, summer only though. They all come up at the same time, made a lot of piccalilli last year as most were about 8lb. With igloo you can sow them 6 inches apart for mini caulis, I'm going to try that this year.

JWK I sowed my sprouts in late April, an early F1 and was able to pick the first in October. They are still standing now, although the tops rotted. Can recommend Brilliant F1 if you want early sprouts, they are pretty tall though

Thanks @Hanglow for the recommendations, I have already bought my seed after realising I was growing late varieties. I have cauliflower Boris for an early crop, if it doesn't perform at least it will have plenty of excuses like its namesake. Also got an early sprout call Crispus. I intend to sow a few in succession to try and get regular picking. I've made a note of your varieties to try next year if my plan fails.
