Must be the BVG Group is selling up along with all the brands they have acquired over the years. T&M was purchased by the group for an undisclosed fee, think they own Sutton's

 

Anywhere that sells 75% less seeds in packets that cost 400% more than from Premier Seeds Direct is doomed.

I think the current owners are trying to get rid of it based on rosy figures from a relatively short period of lockdown gardening boom.

 

I think T & M have been doomed for a long time with excessive prices and their reputation for supplying wrong plants, i have not bought from them for decades

 

T&M was bought out by the bvg group in 2017, rumour was for a figure of 8 million. No way is T&M now worth 150 million plus. The bvg group sells numerous lines mainly through tv shopping channels, sports equipment to garden sheds. The company only broke the 100 million turnover a couple of years ago with plans to reach 200 million. The bvg group will maybe be valued at 150/200 million but not T&M.

 

Both van Meuwen and T&M have removed the BVG reference from their website addresses.
BVG shut down all plant development and new cultivar trialling in 2017. The current company is probably worth less than when they acquired it, as I assume they must have asset-stripped to some extent by selling off the land/facilities previously used for this purpose.
