You big twit:). My daughter has now trained as a sports and remedial masseuse and practices out of a gym as well as being a gym instructor. Yup pretty much gone are the days that a physiotherapist will actually touch you!!. Most will just give you exercises to do and pass you onto the likes of my daughter who also does acupuncture and a cupping thing too. Obviously I am biased BUT what she does definitely works. Yes ok she cannot return me to how I was at say 30 but she can keep me going. The secret unfortunately for paying customers, yup get mine for nothing! is to go regularly. Going only when you have got a real issue will help but you need to keep going to prevent issues again. 3 goes of hell, yes it can hurt ALOT trying to massage out muscles that have gone into spasm, plus 3 lots of acupuncture first really really
did improve my shoulder that I had fallen on. The acupuncture can relieve/ reduce the tension in the area so as to be able to bear the massage post the needles and no they do not hurt! I could not get my jacket/ cardi on without serious contortions prior to daughter having a go at it, now it is way way better.
She treats all sorts and no they are not all in Lycra gym gear, some are into their 80s but she is very happy to try and help be you a magnificently muscles specimen or somewhat of the wrinkly brigade like myself.

A few months back I had 12 intensive one-hour sessions and they were at the gym in the hospital (I have had this at both Private and SNS/NHS hospitals here) and at a private clinic. They still "touch" you if necessary for the exercise/movement. I had to recumbent cycle and lift weights with my feet/legs amongst other exercises for my balance problems. I was over the moon it was over but I still exercise daily as I am not "there" yet.

I wore leggings and a tee shirt, one guy was in all the gear, an old geezer in slacks and shirt, all sorts.

The hardest part I found was wearing a mask for an hour exercising!

Only one to go Pete, keep up afterwards at whatever pace you can.

He has on two occasions worked on my left leg as it cramps up on me.

I don't mind a bit of pain as long as it has a decent out come.

It's knees but my biggest problem is still the nerves from my back which causes the cramps.

I am lucky to still be fairly flexible so I do part of the XBX series of exercises every morning whilst waiting for the kettle to boil. Yes, they only take about 5-12 minutes. The full round would be 12 minutes but I no longer do any running in place and some of the other ones that are probably not good for someone my age as they would be jarring on my joints.

No equipment required. No attendants. But again, it is because I have always been lucky to recover pretty much fully from any injuries I had. There is a set for men too.

I just wish there was some exercise that would make wrinkles disappear! :heehee:

Fray Bentos pies - yummy - but how in the blue heck are you supposed to get them out of the tin once cooked? Asbestos fingers perhaps?

Ooh, too posh to eat a Fray Bentos pie out of the tin, this one! Didn't realise we had a member of the aristocracy in our midst!

If they made their pastry available in a tinned or frozen form, they would make a killing on it - that is the best bit!
To answer your question, sharp knife around the edge, steadying the tin with a gloved hand, fish slice to whip the lid off, big spoon for the contents. No hot tin shall stop me having a Fray Bentos!

You take the lid off, put it in an Air Fryer (or oven), remove tin with tongs/pot holders and off you go ... simplz! Love them.

I doubt I'd be able to do 90% and maybe another 5% of them!

I didn't check all of them but, for a start, most of them require you to lie down on the floor or mat and I haven't been able to do that for over 40 years :dunno:

Getting/ falling down on the floor is not an issue in my case, getting up again is another whole ball game entirely c/o a gammy knee:)

Unless many things change, the out of necessity, importation of foreign HGV drivers to do our dirty work is likely to be approved by our Government and will not be a five minute affair. A relative of mine drove artics for about 7 years. It is only when you are involved in the industry you actually begin to understand the job. It is NOT as simple as just driving up and down a motorway. This chronic shortage started to appear way back over 8 or 9 years ago with mostly “old hands” getting completely fed up with poor pay, conditions, draconian rules, regulations, CPC tests and the delights of VOSA, and decided to pack in. Brexit then made the shortages worse as haulage companies could no longer get as much cheap labour from abroad.
Who would do a badly paid, dangerous, dirty ( fancy hosing out a trailer that had been carrying dozens of newly slaughter lambs or worse pigs)job with unsocial hours and be treated like scum by the majority of the general public? Who clapped for HGV drivers during lockdown when they kept going to bring us virtually everything we buy in supermarkets or from the likes of Amazon? Drivers were banned from petrol station toilets and not even allowed to walk up to the likes of McDonald's drive through, they could hardly drive through in their trucks. To my relative’s horror the powers that be have now made the HGV test much easier to pass. No reverse or coupling tests:yikes:. Relative was contacted by their previous employer about a week ago and offered double what they had been paid 2 years ago as currently they can’t get the cheap labour from abroad. Without hesitation they turned the offer down and will never go back. Many, not all, foreign drivers pay little heed to the rules and regulations re speeds, loads, conditions of their lorries, working hours ,parking restrictions, etc as they know any fines are very difficult to enforce. Watch out!
