    I hope they remember that when the squaddies retire and find themselves homeless.

      Regarding banking, anything with them is now a security nightmare.
      They are making things so difficult for people because they are running scared, the hackers etc. always seem to be one step ahead of them.

      Something has got to change soon before it all becomes just impossible.

        What amazes me is that if you are a day late with a payment, they know exactly how to find you and are happy to do so. Yet if you want to get service from them, or even invest money with them they put you through all sorts of nonsense.

              Today - trying to pay for something:

              Me - can you give me the account name, number and sort code please;
              Seller - of course, here they are;
              Me - enter details via on-line banking;
              Bank - the account name and numbers don't match, be careful.
              Me - hmm, best to be on the safe side. I'll get back to the Seller.
              Me - can you confirm the account details please, my bank is telling me that the details don't match.
              Seller - yes, I can confirm that the bank details are correct.
              Me - Perhaps I entered them incorrectly, I'll try again.
              Bank - the account name and numbers don't match, be careful.
              Me - strange, those details are correctly entered. I'll get back to the Seller.
              Me - I've checked and my bank is rejecting the account details. Please can you confirm that the account name is ??????.
              Seller - the account name I gave you is correct.
              Me - I'll pay by card.

              SORTED.....:doh:

              This is a large reputable company. They just couldn't be arsed to check the account name - or didn't understand what I was asking. I don't know which is worse....

                Just an idea, but would it be possible for service stations to have a minimum charge of say £40 per transaction, regarding fuel.
                It would sort out a lot of those idiots going in there just to top up all the time.

                Motor cycles exempt.

                  Drove past the two local petrol stations this morning - no more busy than usual. I suspect that Joe Bloggs has filled his car and cans up to the brim and is staying away - so that 'normal' motorists can fill up.

                    I would - the bleedin' trust fund won't pay out unless to her own account, for security reasons; the same blasted account we can't open, because... security reasons...

                        Should that not be, maximum charge of £40 ? One group already has put a £30 limit on fuel, with HGV, couriers and emergency services being exempt. The cashiers have been told to stop the pumps when a motorist reaches £30.

                        Lancashire-based EG Group imposes £30 limit on fuel after 'unprecedented demand' | Lancashire Evening Post (lep.co.uk)

                          No, a minimum charge.
                          The idea is, that unless you really need fuel you wont get in the queue.
                          A maximum charge just doesn't stop the ones that keep calling in to top up, it actually encourages them.

                            Before the pubs run dry and we have no HGV drivers, it's time I started stockpiling. :heehee:
