Not finished yet! The fence is on hold as I need to access the ramp from the side whilst I surface it.

Yes it's quite a sloping site, the fence is on the side of a new ramp to access the front door. I won't start a thread about slabs vs pavers vs concrete vs tarmac vs resin bound ... :rolleyespink:

    Thanks everyone.

What was the outcome? I'm assuming you just said "see how they go" as I'm not really sure what else you could do?

I have a customer who does a roaring trade in building gates. He's been doing it about 3 or 4 years now and gets most of his work through social media. When he first started his customers would ring him when their gates had moved and he would go round to have a look but because there's nothing he could do he now doesn't even bother going round to look, he just tells them over the phone that their gates will sort themselves out when the dry/wet weather changes. Don't get me wrong, he really is a conscientious bloke who would sort any issues out if he could, but he knows from experience it's the nature of the material used (timber) it does what it wants to do.

Well the outcome was, muggings here had to get all the boards out reduce the two outside boards in width, try to straighten out the rails and then refit the boards.

We oiled them this time before refitting.
        Never heard anymore from them.
