I have joined to initially ask a bug question but . . .

We have a lot of wildlife :hhog::badger::) and the worst weeds ever  (horsetail for one) so have learned to live in harmony with them keeping the garden tidy rather than gardening that I used to enjoy before moving here. Covid, council stopped green collections, self-isolation and awful fruit and veg deliveries has made us realise we need to start growing our own. We gave up on our previous compost heaps when our dreadful weeds invaded them spreading themselves around the garden, but have recently started new compost bins and will be more careful what goes in them in future. Next year we hope to start growing veg in caged raised beds, so will likely have a question or two then.

          Welcome to G.C wildside.
Keep cutting the Horsetail back and eventually it'll give up.
          Good luck!
