After cutting through the cable on the sensor of my old thermostat I bought a new one back in the summer ready for around now.
    DSC02001.JPG

Anyway, it appears to be the most complicated thing I've ever come across, I dont want cooling, I just want it to turn the heater on, and then off after the temperature rises a couple of degrees, simple.

I cant alter the settings and the cooling light is on all the time, for some reason.

    It says, step 2
    DSC02004.JPG

All I get is an upside down F and what is either an S or a 5, I hate these displays.
    DSC02003.JPG
And the cooling light just stays on all the time?

Personally I would have put more than three buttons on the thing.;)
The other thing is, if you dont do everything within 10seconds it wont work anyway.:frown:

Any ideas, I just want something simple, like me.

Mr Google says that the upside down "F" is in fact lower case "t".

Take it back and have a refund, there must be something easier to use than that.

Thanks @Selleri , I will go and try it, but I think I have been doing something like that all along and it just reverts to the original settings.
Who would have thought that an upside down F was actually a small t, You would have thought the flakey instructions would have used a small t instead of a capital T, who makes this rubbish.:rolleyespink:

I've just tried altering it and I think I might have managed it, but I cant understand why the cooling light is on all the time, I want heating but its not easy to say its going to kick in when the temperature drops. Is it still going to be on cooling??

It really is a weird thing, my last one had a knob and you just turned it up or down.
I'm guessing its too late to get my money back.

Mmmhhh... if I read the instructions right, you should set the desired temperature as TS (tS), and the heating to kick on if the temperature drops under the threshold with the HD (1 degree in the snapshot). The same with the cooling, start cooling if the temperature reaches the set degrees above the tS.

So if your desired temperature tS is now set at room temperature, the heating will not kick in unless the room cools down below the threshold.

Engineers... I once read an article about bad design. It was refreshing to realise that if a door needs a sign "push" or "pull", it actually means that the door is badly designed and the functionality is not obvious.

Probably the famous Internet Of Things and Alexa are there to overcome the barrier of bad designing. Just say "Alexa, heat the room to 20C and keep it like that" and it's all done.

Personally I like to push buttons :)

I've given up with it for now, might have another go with it tomorrow.
Not sure why I bought one with cooling as well as its pretty pointless in a greenhouse in the UK.

I think if one was available I would have bought it.

Looking at it online and I appear to have bought something that is designed for controlling heat for brewing beer?

I think there was, but they mostly only stayed around to promote their product.

I was given one to review, have sent review in a PM

I have previously offered mine for free because I thought it so useless.

Think the Inkbird is programmed to allow its use in many varied situations, hence a seemingly complicated menu system.

A very popular controller for £10 is the STC1000 but its needs to be wired up and waterproofed for greenhouse use.

There is his newer unit which is plug and play that looks to be an attempt at cloning the Inkbird but only appears offers one simple Set Temp.

Sorry for laughing @pete but the thought of you starting beer over your brick oven and then fermenting it in the greenhouse made me smile.

I have one of tnose inkbird guys but it only the simple one for shoving under a heat mat.
