Thank you @Upsydaisy what a wonderful shop, and they have an online store too, now I will have to send for something from there, they have such lovely healthy plants. I'll have a good look later on

        Aloha everyone,

        Wish you better @moyra :grphg:

Terrible monsoons here yesterday and during the night. In between the floods the sun shone brightly. :rolleyespink:

Off to a nursery today if the roads aren't flooded to get winter plants for our baskets.

        Take care

        Aloha!

Good morning everyone......nippy night last night 3C.

Hope you're all well and have got your thermals ready and waiting!

We've had no landline or internet for the last couple of days..grrr!!
Despite reporting it they kept saying things were fine and they had ran checks and nothing showed up for our area .Our cable still ,( don't ask!:wallbanging:) runs along the ground ,( in the bushes) so we decided to go and check it ourselves yesterday....halfway up our lane I discovered the cable had be severed completely , it was very frayed and chewed looking!
It so happened that the hedgerows were trimmed on Tuesday......hmmm think we found the culprit!!

Anyway they came out very promptly and the guy was horrified at the issues we've had since we had problems over 2years ago when they carried out an emergency connection ( because of my Dad and brother having their individual care alarms directed to us) promising to return within a couple of months and reroute and permanently connect our line . Well we never saw or heard from them again.
The guy yesterday couldn't believe it, apparently the section he works for have just taken over call outs and repairs in or area and he's going to get his boss to come out and see the state we had been left in !

Anyway for now we're back up and running. I do panic a bit because it would be ***s law that when our connection is lost my brother's care/ panic alarm would get activated!!!

That's my lot for now, keep safe and keep warm and have a lovely day.:spinning:

              Aloha everyone,

@Upsydaisy sorry to hear about your line problems. At least we don't have that problem as ours in on overhead cables. :phew: But we do get problems with tree branches and some of the over fed large birds. :heehee:

              @moyra wish you better :grphg:

              Keep safe

              Aloha!

                Good morning everyone

Keep taking the meds and honey @moyra, I'm glad you are feeling a bit better.

Well I don't know what to think @Upsydaisy, fancy being left in a situation like that ! I wonder why the problem couldn't be detected, doesn't make sense to me. People's lives depend on these things working properly. I'm glad to hear you are back up and running for now.

:roflol: @shiney that's what ours were and are suppose to be too and yes we have had overhanging tree issues in the past as well, many a time. The current situation was only suppose to be temporary.....

Because we're very small fish in the ocean Michael, and we are the only ones connected to the line.

But that shouldn't make any difference, it makes me feel angry that people's lives don't seem to matter.

Why couldn't they detect that ? I'm glad that chap's boss is now going to see it. I don't suppose the council's hedge trimming people even noticed it was there, and it shouldn't have been left like that anyway. I hope they do something about it soon.

Apparently he's been and gone and was only here for a few minutes...now we'll have to wait and see if there's an outcome..or not!:noidea:

To be honest I'm not too sure if it was the council Michael . There's a huge land estate that surrounds us ,they use to own most of the area way back in time. The grand house is just off the top of our lane ( Princess Diana was often spotted coming down for the weekend and escaping the paparazzi.) The groundsman lives in one of the 6 houses in our lane and is often seen on the tractor with the hedge cutting equipment attached, and to be honest with all the noise and the overgrown hedges he wouldn't have seen it. We did inform him a couple of years ago about the line and so far he has missed it, can't really blame him and I doubt if he knows, even now, what he accidentally did.
