I'm still waiting for a text from my Surgery. I had to remind them before I had my second Vaccine.

Good evening people round here locally are declining the booster jab this time round for many reasons mostly because last time the queues 100 yards long in the torrential rain and wind waited 1 to 2 hours outside in the bad weather ,and many because they haven't felt the same since having the last two jabs as far as I can gather, even the flu jab is almost impossible to get none at the GP surgeries and none at our local chemists total disorganization

It appears to me that the GP's are still working from home, plus are the receptionists are getting a bonus each time they are rude to a patient.

@john558 we have the same problem here. The hats are trying to tell the docs to get off their computer and see people in person and the docs are ignoring them.

Perhaps getting paid for virtual visits should receive a little less compensation than the real deal?

@wiseowl we've got an abundance of flu shots here and I'm thinking supply is high because the demand is low due to the fact we still have to mask in all indoor settings except when pushing food into our maws. The masks and hand washing seemed to have pretty much stopped the flu last year compared to previous years. So it makes sense that if we still have to mask up, then why get a shot for "this year's" strain of flu?

Good afternoon @CanadianLori yes I agree with you 100%

Almost all surgeries locally here have this on their website:smile:

We have just been informed by our flu vaccine supplier that there is a 1 to 2 week delay in our deliver because of unforeseen road freight challenges. We cannot make any bookings until the new delivery date is confirmed. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused, but this is unfortunately out of our control. We will keep you updated.

Parents had the booster jab 3 weeks ago, they both had the flu jab today. My Mrs had both yesterday, my daughter (17) is booked in on Saturday for her second Pfizer jab, As for me, I am booked in to see the nurse at our local GP for my booster and flu jabs, plus my yearly medical check up on Monday.

Had no issue seeing a GP at our local practise, my dad even had his 6 monthly check up at the dentist yesterday.

Good evening @gks my friend yes I think its a bit of a postcode lottery we have one hospital left here (the powers to be closed 3 others)now with 588 beds ITU 14 beds for 290,000 people my surgery has 12,000 patents with 4 doctors and throughout Medway its about the same so when the government says the hospital are over run as you can see it doesen't take much:smile:

I think the one thing that has come out of all this is that the NHS don't have enough ICU beds for the areas that they cover.
                  Its just ridiculous.

Although our local surgery did the original two covid jabs they do not have the facility to handle the Pfizer one so are not bothering to inform their patients about it. When making enquiries they say the NHS will alert them to when they can have the booster. I received my NHS notice today.

There should be no waiting out in the rain and cold this time (we did that at the surgery) as it will be a vaccine centre. I shall sort mine out tomorrow.

Flu jab - I never have it and do my best to keep away from people. Any time I go into buildings I wear a mask. Although they say wearing a mask doesn't protect you but protects other people it must still give a reasonable amount of protection - added to distancing.

Just talking to a mate and he said the problem is that the Pfizer jab is being used for boosters.

With all the handling problems, ie low temperatures, it's not easily handled at small places with a comparatively few people to jab.

Our first two jabs here were Astra Zeneca but we've had no word about the booster as yet, so don't know what it will be.

Flu jabs are under way. Mr S had his the week before last but I don't have it.

Ha ha, surprise surprise, they appear to have come up with a new variant just in time for winter.

Delta plus did I hear correctly?

                          This is getting monotonous.

Wonder how many cases of other diseases or disorders, (non Covid), we are getting each day?
                              Anybody counting?

                              Narr, wouldn't be worth mentioning.;)

Point being, if you keep counting how many new cases each day its going to mount up, they have NHS testing places on every street corner, almost.

Hospitalisations are rising but then, dont they always, with respiratory diseases, as winter draws on.
