      @NigelJ they do look similar to the large Australian Witchetty grubs which the Aborigines eat. :smile:

        @strongylodon That was my first thought Witchetty grubs, then I rembered not common in the UK.

                              It is a cute little dude, I am going to see if it likes macaroni tonight. Before they developed the woods across the street we had several of them and they were better neighbors than those we have now. ;)

                                I photographed this white-tailed doe early last fall and did not get around to really looking at the photo closely until recently. It was startling to see the animal has blue/green eyes! The photo was sent to the New York State Conservation Department to see of they could explain the the unusual eye color. One of their biologists suggested Leucism, but when I looked up Leucism it said it does not affect eye colour. Whatever it is, this animal is unique, literally one in a million. Hopefully, she will not be "harvested" during deer season. :love30:
