On a Monday my partner has her Covid test. My day is dependant on whether she has any lectures or tuition afterwards and thid is Monday she had a full day so I took my camera out with me on my travels. It would have helped if I'd turned the charger on though!

I walked as far as Marylebone with her and as she was having a Covid test for us I decided that the least that I could do was to have breakfast for her! After brekkies it was off to the Queen Mary gardens in The Regents Park.

That Opuntia is the very similar to the one that took over part of my greenhouse years ago and was dangerous.;)

It is. It is in an arid bed along with some Aloe, Agave, Echeveria, Puya, those massive Cordyline australis and various other cacti and succulents. As all the areas around this bed have been prepped for the winter I assume that there they will stay.

                Just a few more.
From the park I headed back to the appartment to drop some shopping off and then headed off to Notting Hill.

On to the top of Portobello Road and we come to Portobello Gardens. This is my favourite garden space in west London but by now I was almost out of battery. The Bananas have flowered...............

By this point I was out of battery. Sadlyb tomorrow is looking cappy weatherwise so hopefully I can continue this later in the week, taking in the better parts of Kensington Gardens, hyde Park and St.James Park.

Location, location, location! Big city heat sink, right next to the elevated Westway road and tall houses the other side of the gardens.
I now know of a Strelitzia growing in a pot outdoors all year in a mews in Fitzrovia! It flowers every year according to the owner.

There's a lot of work gone into constructing a building like that. It's a shame that we won't see anything like it again with modern buildings.
