That's it, really. I have had two in pots for a year, both have been very healthy and behaved beautifully, so to speak.

Now, one - only one - has yellow leaves towards the bottom, the other is fine.

The recent downpours have soaked this one - because of its position - though not the other one. Could this be the reason?

Could be...but also possibly chlorosis. Skimmias like acid soil/compost. When the soggy one has dried out a bit, give them a liquid ericaceous feed or a dose of sequestrene.

Well, a year later, all was well last year after one dose of sequestrene, but *a lot* of leaf-yellowing again this year; have given two doses of Seq and only a few turning yellow now, but some still are. Do you think I should give another, re-pot into ericaceous, something else?

Might be obvious but are you feeding at least every 2 weeks during the spring and summer.
The soaking may well have washed all nutrient out of the pot.

Thanks, Upsy, how much, how often, may I ask?

Thanks, Pete, no didn't, must admit. If I repot should it be in ericaceous?

Personally ,if you think they need repotting I'd wait until about may next year.
              Yes use ericacious compost.

              Do they have flower buds.

I may be wrong on this, but I think Sequetrene contains both iron and magnesium, the last one being the reason for Epsom salts.

Have you got a picture, it would help quite a lot if you could upload some.

Now that I look at it properly, I see it does have what can be described as buds. I've just never thought of them that way. It does also look fairly okay now, does it? Hard to believe it has lost dozens of leaves. This must be an annual event, it seems.

Still a good idea to repot next year, do you think?

The interloper looks like Bacopa, does it?
