    Hi All
I'm new to gardening but there are 4 buddleia growing very happily at the top of my garden. They were beautiful well into October and still teaming with bees and butterflies. When is best to prune them and how low should I go?
    I'm grateful for any advice.

Hello Andrea, If they're Buddleia davidii, they're best pruned in spring as they flower on the growth they make the same year. Cut out any obviously dead wood, then take the main woody branches down to 1-2', 30-60cms, with loppers or a pruning saw.

@noisette47 has got this nailed. I would add to it though by saying only cut the when there is no risk of frost, and always aboove a healthy pair of leaves. Younger stems are usually green, and older dead ones darker, so they are easy to distinguish.

@Andrea Youll welcome to the forum.
