Morning all........well me by the look of it!!!:heehee:

After a lot of gorgeous sunshine we're now back with a dreary, drab looking day today.

Not much on today, we have to pop into town at some point and will probably call in to see my brother too.
Will continue writing out Christmas cards.

        Have a good day.:spinning:

Good morning everyone, sorry not been around much as I am suffering with either long covid or COPD, which is more likely. Have contacted the doctors surgery and told them that the slightest little effort causes me breathless. I asked if they could put me out an inhaler as the vick inhalers and vick rub on my chest were not doing any good. They are going to send someone out to examine me so hopefully they can give me some relief.

Have a good day everyone, stay safe and well. God bless. :)

Sorry to hear that you're still under the weather @moyra . It will be good to get a firm diagnosis, followed by the appropriate treatment, they'll have you back to your old self for Christmas.:santagift: xx

                      Aloha everyone,

@moyra I hope the doc can sort you out quickly and wish you lots better. :grphg:

@Flumpy I hope you don't have too much storm damage.

Things have been extremely hectic here with a ton of legal work for me to do (not any personal stuff but for the organisations/charities I help to run) plus trying to keep up to date with the garden and other things. I've, so far, waded through about 400 pages of old documents (some going back 60+ years) with lots of heretofores and notwithstandings :phew:.

Re the garden etc. we face due south but the sun doesn't get high enough for it to get past the trees in some parts of the garden. So some areas it feels bitterly cold and in other areas, where the sun reaches, it's quite warm. All compost heaps are full of leaves and 20 ton bags of leaves have gone to a large compost area at a garden centre :blue thumb: - but it costs .

The heating cable in our propagator has packed up (has only lasted 45 years since I built it :rolleyespink:) and have ordered a new 24m one, with thermostat, which should arrive next week. I have to get someone in to fix it as I can no longer get down to do the work. It entails getting under the bench, between the supports made from sleepers, to get to the power box. The whole thing weighs over a quarter of a ton and to fit the new cable it will require removing a lot of the sand and pea shingle from in the propagator to take out the old cable and put in the new one. I still remember building it 45 years ago and finding it quite easy! :old:

The thermocouple in the main oven of our range cooker has packed up (the oven works but only on high) and is another thing I can no longer get down to fix. It took me three days of searching the internet and making phone calls to find an engineer that would work on a gas range! He's coming next week.

Yesterday we had a new planting in the front garden. It was a concertinaed car where it was very difficult to tell the front from the back. The driver had to be travelling much too fast, over corrected on the bend, hit a rather solid tree across the road (fortunately for him the tree stopped him diving head first into a 10ft deep ditch) spun across the road and ended up backwards through our front flower bed and buried in our 70 year old laurel hedge (the trunks of the laurel are like trees). He seemed OK at first and was taken home but is now in hospital with serious bruising and I don't know whether he has any breaks.

Apart from all that we are staggering along OK. Mrs Shiney is now giving more talks and demonstrations on flower arranging and I've now managed to get three of my bridge clubs back face to face instead of online and am working on how to have a good Christmas event that is very Covid safe.

                      Take care

                      Aloha!

Wow Shiney you are busy, you could do without cars flying into your front garden, stupid some people :nonofinger: good luck with the bridge :dbgrtmb:.

The wind is still bad here, it’s still a little dark here, but as far as I can see, our table and chairs seem to of moved somewhere, I’ll see more when it’s light!

                        :gmorning: All

Good morning everyone..phew what a windy old night that was, gradually easing up now but still good for kite flying!!

Yet to discover if we have any damage out there, hopefully not as we did try and make sure everything was secure.

Woke up to a wet bed as my small water bottle had sprung a leak...can't sleep without it on my hip/ knee. I was only wondering the other day now much longer it would last as I can't remember never having it !!

Well I hope everything calms down wherever you are, keep safe.:spinning:
