Have I killed my agapanthus?

    I bought some lovely agapanthus last year from my garden centre and they looked super in pots in my boarder. I still have the label but its a bit low in info and I'm rather concerned that I should have bought them in over the winter as the leaves have turned to mush. Is this normal or am I going to be receiving my gardening P45?

    Don't worry mine do that. There are some varieties that keep their foliage overwinter, mine don't and die down. They will reappear in the spring.

      I agree with JWK, there are so called evergreen types which are not considered hardy, but the majority of those sold in this country tend to be the herbaceous types.
      If you look closely you may be able to see the tips of new leaves starting to grow already.
