    Gosh @Jocko you and your wife don’t stop! All I did was dig the trench for the peas, fill with shredded paper, added compost then sifted the topsoil (dry clay!) back on top. Set up the poles and had a very irritating and annoying time putting the pea netting on the poles!! :gaah: All I got was a cold bottle of San Miguel for my efforts, it was lovely though :)

        Sowed some more Sweet Peas and Geranium Orchid Blue while the CEO had the hose out giving everything a good soaking. We then emptied a large tub of Daffodils, planting them in the garden, before the boss refilled the tubs with compost for the imminent arrival of annuals and such.

            Today:

            - dug over the raised beds around the pond;
            - watered;
            - got tangled up in the netting over the pond and nearly went for a short trip;
            - supped copious amounts of tea :coffee:;
            - read 'Amateur Gardening' magazine;
            - filled in some gaps between the patio slabs with postcrete.

            Not a bad day all in all....:smile:

              Topped up new bed (still need more soil and compost), and carried on pulling and digging out ivy. Lots and lots of ivy... I'll need to think of a replacement ground cover but I cannot stand ivy going where I don't tell it!

                We have three Oak trees growing in our hedge. We want to bring them on - not that we will ever see them grow. Thank you birds.

                    Sorted out the Lobelia and pricked them all out...proved very time consuming, I should've done them earlier before they got tangled up
                    Emptied and refilled with fresh compost the large flower planter and two smaller wall ones The 3 urn planters will get done tomorrow.

                    Weeded another section of path, just a small bit left which I'll do next weekend.

                    Tidied up and removed some dead twiggy bits on the Weigelia, which is coming out in Blossom.
                    Dug up and replanted some escapee Verbena B
                    Weeded one of the small borders. 20220424_134805.jpg

                    Just this bit left to do now.

                      All I did today was transplant a big clump of Hemp Agrimony from the front of my Butterfly Border to the back, it was so large that I had to saw the thing in half as it was too heavy to lift into my wheelbarrow! I should've planted it where I wanted it to establish in the first place! :doh: I have another that needs transplanting, but it's only about 2/3rds of the size of this one, so should be a lot easier to move and won't need dividing. :)

                        Yesterday, I started putting down some landscape fabric on the borders to give me half a chance of retaining control this year - many of you will recall I really lost my mojo last year to the point I was going to grass or gravel the lot and never bother again....

                        However, this is another year, and we are off to a half decent start I think - tomatoes and cucumbers are still sulking (in fact, I think I need to start some more cucumbers tomorrow) but most stuff is OK. You can see some of the landscape fabric through the fence in this first photo:

                            Cleaned out and refilled the 3 Urn planters ready for planting out in May.
                            Weeded and ditched some underperforming plants in our Pets Corner and also weeded the raised beds that edge the smaller 3rd patio.
                            Swept all 3 patios as we seem to have eager nest building birds competing for moss off the house roof!! .Messy devils.

                                Yes - I lost three trays of marigold seedlings and two of carrots to the blighters before I put the pellets on.

                                We are going to be busy :heehee:
