What plant is this?

These blue flowered plants have started growing along the edges of my garden.
I didn't plant them. a few of my neighbours have got the same plants in their garden for the first time too, and they didn't plant them either. Maybe birds have dropped the seeds?
I just don't know what these are and how they got there.
Any thoughts?

 

They are bluebells.
Judging by the size of the clump I'd say they have been there a few years at least.

They don't look like the native wild bluebells though, they're probably some cultivated variety.

 

I was thinking maybe the Spanish type, but not sure, the leaves look fairly wide.

 

And the flowers are upright .

 

I'd like to see the flowers fully open.

 

I think all bluebells are invasive to be honest.
I think it's because the Spanish type are non native and cross breed with the native ones that they are considered less desirable and likely to push out the true daintier native.

 

My native bluebells are easy to distinguish, they are a deeper blue and when fully out hang their heads/stem.

Mine are more 'spanish looking' however they do have scent and have white varients amongst them which I like very much
