    It's very strange they decided to grow like this. Never happened before. Be interesting to see if anyone else has come across them doing this

    Fasciation.

    Quite common in some flowers, it's a growth defect where separate shoots/buds become fused together. Possibly caused by a hormonal imbalance as the shoot develops.

      Had this in a dahlia one year . It was as though I'd stuck two together back to back.
      Hadn't though , I çouldnt find the glue

        It occurs quite commonly with Veronicastrum and is a nice feature of it. It also provides a bigger flower surface which the bees adore. :)

        Hi shiny, you mention Veronicastrum , Over the years I have tried germinating this plant many times now with seed from different supplier's . Is this a difficult one to get started? I seem to be ok with Veronica which I thought to be the same family .

        Is this seed renowned for being difficult ?
