You may end up with short bushy plants as opposed to tall lanky ones.
I'm sure different varieties have different growth habits to some extent.

I have loads of peppers on the locotos, all green, and black where they are exposed to the light. All others are now producing flowers, and a couple had a massive aphid infestation unfortunately so I have squashed and sprayed them

I continued with my repotting on the weekend
          But ran out of soil.
Will have to do the last few when I can get some more.

Lost one plant, 3 are standing on their own and one still needs a bit of support. I'm thinking get them through to next year and then I'll have a good start, is that a possibility?

In my limited experience, unless they are the chilense super hots, I wouldn't bother trying to over winter them
The garden centres get small plants in from May. It's a lot easier to buy (usually quite cheaply) new plants every season, than struggling to keep plants alive through the winter.

                Hello all,

I've just been in the greenhouse and spent a bit of time looking over the chili plants. I was surprised by how many chilis are already forming on the plants. The picture below is of one of my Hungarian Hot Wax showing the chilis hiding under the leaves.

                  @Ademission,

This type must be an early starter
Mine also has a few well developed fruit forming.

They look great @Ademission . Mine are growing slowly, I am assuming they are doing more root growth, I put them into bigger pots than I have used before.

                      Hi Sirius,
Yes, I think its an early starter too. I have a number of other types of chili that are not as advanced as the Hungarian Hot Wax.

The sweet peppers are fruiting well with some of 4" in length already so looking out for the change in colour as they ripen.

                      Thanks for your reply.

                        Hello Hanglow,

The Hungarian Hot Wax chilis (2) are in 11litres pots of Clay Beads growing hydroponically as are all my chilis. They were started early in a grow-tent and transfered to the hydro in the greenhouse as the weather became suitable. I guess the growth will start in ernest as the weather improves.

The smallest chilli plant has these little devils on the lower leaves, anyone know what they are? They are leaving a sticky residue on the leaves 20220612_124046.jpg 20220612_124030.jpg
