i have been looking around for a simple holder that i can clip onto a belt just to put a pair of secateurs into

I use toughbuilt tool holsters for a lot of tools and they are really useful - But wanted something for various size secateurs

I tried out a leather holster by Spear & Jackson on a big stand at a garden show last week, and only their small pairs would fit in

I have some that are bypass and some anvil

if i'm doing any cutting back, as i was around a garage door - and up a ladder cutting back around a gutter - i just want a pouch to pop them in.

i may end up using my toughbuilt holster now i have some spare clips for it
But they are a bit big and bulky - just to keep secateurs in
ToughBuilt Project Pouch | ToughBuilt — TOUGHBUILT

    maybe i'm missing something

this is the holder , i tried at the show
Leather Secateur Holster | Spear and Jackson

But they had a stand with all their secateurs on, and when i tried them out - only very small ones seemed to fit

    Any suggestions

I have a holder like the Spear and Jackson from Felco and it works fine on my belt. I only have the one pair of secateurs though.
What counts as a large pair of secateurs though?
I have a pair of loppers Spear and Jackson for larger pruning followed by a variety of pruning and bush saws.

thanks for the fast reply -
i'm not sure on the size , my main ones are anvil. i just had a table full of secateurs on the spear & jackson stand, and the medium's didn't seem to fit well, but the guy on the stand was helping and did not do a good job of selling then
but given the limited choice , i suppose I must have just had an issue, they must be OK

I've got a Darlec one, it fits the Darlec secateurs that I have.
I just cant work out where your supposed to put the thing on your belt.
Put it on the front and you cant bend down, put it on the back and you cant sit down, I rarely use it.

@pete I put mine around the hip just at the back of the pocket.
Big advantage I don't lose them or lob in the compost heap as often.

Yeah, I have tried that as well but it's still in the way when I sit down.
I just end up wandering around with it in my hand.

I have a Felco model 2 and the matching holster which I find sit best near the centre front of the belt - I have hanging tool pockets which sit outside that for other things like labels, gardening gloves, mobile phone and string etc. The Felco is a standard bypass - I didn't think there was much variation in secateur size. It's a pity they don't have a hole in the handle end of the secateur so one could put a carabiner on it and just clip it on a belt loop.

I tried that and found it rather uncomfortable.

Then like James Bond you could wear it under your dinner jacket.
