    Hi There,

I brought this rose from David Austin only 3 months ago & today I’ve noticed this dark red growth. Is this Rose Rosette? Can I do anything about it?

Several of my roses do that. They then flower and carry on as normal. I have never worried about it. Should I?

It looks like just strong new growth to me.
It will green up in time and the red will just be on the new growth.

Good evening @Felicity Grace "Rose Rosette" has never been recorded in the UK and your Rose is fine and healthy:smile:

Rose rosette disease (RRD) is a damaging and often fatal condition affecting Rosa species, caused when the host plant is infected with rose rosette virus (RRV). This disease was first observed in the 1940s in a limited number of states in Canada and the USA, but is now found throughout much of North America. In 2017, the virus was detected by surveys in two ornamental gardens in India (West Bengal). Rose rosette virus has never been recorded in the UK and is believed to be absent, but it has the potential to cause significant damage to the rose industry should it be introduced.

As others have said earlier, there's nothing wrong at all with your rose! The red stems are perfectly normal in vigorous new growth & for that reason are to be welcomed! After a few weeks they will become the normal green again. :dbgrtmb::)
