Sorted out the pots of spring flowering bulbs crocuses, species snowdrops and muscari. Watered, planted some more brassicas to replace the ones fried in the hot weather last week, planted more leeks and lettuce. Watered, repotted some cacti, picked tomatoes, cleaned the guttering on the greenhouse and made sure the pipework was clear as it looked like rain. Planted some pansies and aquilegias.

I dug a hole 18" square by about a foot deep ready to plant an ordered shrub. I filled it with water and it drained away fairly quickly. I then refilled it and it still drained away in a couple of hours.
Today we did a pile of deadheading, We also removed most of the Sweet peas from the tubs. Despite plenty of watering, the leaves were turning brown and dying off.
We sowed some Morning Glory in one of the tubs. Don't know if they will have enough time to flower but the boss wanted to give it a try.

        Nigel thanks for reminding me!!
I set out all the pots with bulbs in to be sorted and cleaned up before we had the hot spell. It gets too hot in my working corner of our garden where the greenhouse, coldframes and my potting bench are...so I left them for another day..and forgot!! Opps , a job for this afternoon.

I thought the video was great hence the mention of the hole I had dug. Since mine drained away in a couple of hours I didn't do the maths as I don't think there is a problem.
Enjoyed a lot more of his videos on soil, composting and Leaf mould.
Too wet to garden today but I see the first of my Morning Glory are out and what a beautiful flower. I have never grown them before.

I cut the front and rear lawns then spread the clippings over the problematic shrubbery. I also took delivery of 240L of Farmyard Manure which will also be going onto the shrubbery as a top dressing.

Cut back the hedge belonging to next door. They abandoned the house at the begining ofthe pandemic . It's a Leylandii and I'm afraid it will get out of control if we don't do it

My new gate/door - it needed something on it - it was too plain. Anyway thought that this sign looked quite good:
