Echinops bannaticus 'the giant'

    A couple of the heads are flowering and it's already attracting loads of bees.

        I have one like this Echinops Tjanschanicus I think Tienchanicus is the same plant . Very big flower heads it grow over 7ft I had to take it out , planted half on the garage site the over half in pot waiting for a home.

          Mine is around 6 and a half high and wide and the heads are about the size of a tennis ball but it has to come out in autumn as it's only in 9ft square bit of ground, my neighbour is having it or maybe half:heehee:

            It were unfortunate I had to take it out I do like big plants but it stuck out like a sore thumb. The bees did adore it , I do have another echinops in the back garden E.Taplow Blue which is still a big plant 4ft ( when they eventually get going ) but its no monster like this one. It divided really easy by accident more a less , I shook it to get some soil off and it divided into to 2 large plants .

              Awesome backdrop @Perki , i need it in my garden really but it's blocking out the climbers on the pergola but i haven't given up on it yet:heehee:
